Agree Count. Its dangerous to keep flitting in here and out there looking for quick (here today gone tomorrow) profits. More often than not the MMs take all your money on every turn. I've always found it best to sit tight on something you're convinced about. Only caveat is 'if the facts change or look like changing then change your mind'. The facts at XTR are still evolving in the upwards direction.

Icebergs (lse) post regarding a possible valuation that could come about based on the Valmin code was around 5p ?
That is looking spot on ! I expect people have come to their own conclusions hence the sell off. Down we go again.

Like most people are all in on a house.

I'm happy to wait a few months to see this realize it's potential. In the grand scheme of things it's a very short time frame for potentially huge rewards.

Further, my opinion, strategically take advantage of the short term traders and sellers moving to chase other stocks, to continue building ones holding here, because the mistaken belief that nothing is going to happen with the share price until Q2 may well be proven quite wrong. IMHO DYOR, etc.

The stock market is all about opposites, when people are selling one should buy, when they are impatient you should be patient, etc.

For what it's worth this is my take on things, but firstly thank you to some of the posters who have explained what they have been doing and for their honest posts, because it helps support my opinions. Seen the same thing play out many, many times before now.

The share list of XTR, as we all know, doesn't have any major funds or company holders and the directors will certainly not be selling any stock. Therefore we can deduce that the company is made up of 100s or 1000s of small PI's with varying sized holdings. It is these PI's who make the daily market and move the share price

Probably due to CB saying that the resource announcement for Racecourse is still months away, after April, some of the PI's took the decision to sell. Impatient selling to the patient. These small sales then trigger the obvious decline in the sp, which then makes some of the less knowledgeable or weaker PI's start asking questions like "what's going on?!" or "is something bad/wrong". This then creates further sells as psychology kicks in.

You need look no further than some of the posts on here "I'll buy back in a few months time". If just a few PI's have the same idea then it's enough to move a stock lower during fairly low volume days. Absolutely nothing to do with the fundamentals, which actually continue to get better and better.

The other thing to take note of is that, some folks will be seeing other stocks increasing and will want to chase those stocks higher, which is fine, but this results in sales as they free up cash to invest elsewhere. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything about the company and is all based on individuals wants, needs and perceptions.

What we do know is that there is plenty of news in the pipeline, Zambia, drilling results and assays due. Any weakness in the share price represents an excellent opportunity to add or build on ones holding, IMHO.

P.S. As a contrarian investor I actually decided to sell all of my other holdings and bought more shares in XTR on Monday, I now only hold XTR. I don't see a better investment for risk/reward. All I have to do is remain patient and wait.

Many thanks, TD, for correcting my stupid mistake on CB's age. I was born in 1945 and am 76 and will be 77 soon, so should have realised CB will be 78, or 79, if he was born in 1943. My only excuse is I'm a silly OAP, unlike CB, who still appears to be on the ball.
I did sell most of my XTR shares today and put the proceeds into KIST instead when it dropped below £4 this morning. Have I made the right decision? Who knows? I'm only gambling with relatively small amounts of money compared to many on these bb's and I won't throw myself off the top of a tall building if I've got it wrong. I get lots of things wrong, which may be comforting to those who have bought XTR shares today instead of selling. I'll hopefully buy back the shares I sold today in a few months time, unless the XTR share price has skyrocketed up in the meantime!
Anyway I kept some shares.
To please Zero Matrix (who I still have on filter) I won't post as much in future! 😁

Paps ahem 78 or 79.

Re the trading it is difficult to read anything - sometimes you have a clue but this could be anything, it is seemingly fickle. Instinct says that support is higher than this low 5p ping pong.

If we split Colin's statements into operational and strategic signal content, we have learnt that he can be a bit wayward on the operational delivery, but in my view strategically he is spot on going for broke. If the drill hits a third porphyry or gold then he can slow the process down, but you can never catch up lost time.

Let us see how the land looks in 4 weeks.

goforgold1. If he was born in 1943, as was posted earlier, then he's either 47, or 48.

If support @ 5p doesn't hold then there is another potential support level @ 4.5p. Whether it will go that low who can tell? I can't.

It's not a "bad" RNS 2603, just that we have been informed today by CB, in the interview with Zak Mir, that we are unlikely to get any news concerning the Bushranger sale until Q2. Short termers and traders have probably taken this as a sign to sell and come back in a few months time.

MM's only quote a bid and offer price, denjon. They don't quote a mid price. advfn and other financial sites, take the mid price of that bid and offer spread to quote an arbitrary price.
If you can buy below that arbitrary mid price it just means you can buy at the lower end of that bid, offer spread.
Often, but not always, being able to buy below the arbitrary mid price suggests that the share price could drift lower. We'll have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

I remember the Count saying that his biggest worry is the market sell-off taking us with it. I must say I also start to share this concern, the US market is extremely weak and poised for a big correction, the way I see it. Today and the other days show how quickly it will take us and all the other markets with it. Nobody will care how much US rose compared to the other markets. We should be breaking 10p ahead of all the excitement this year and instead struggling to hold 5p.
