I'm slightly concerned by the share price performance after establishing a new high earlier this month. The price has established a new lower low after dropping mid December.

Strong growth in orders bodes well for 2018. I particularly liked the 101% increase in orders at Comdel suggesting the acquisition was well planned.

"We enter 2018 with positive momentum and therefore expect to grow orders and revenue in 2018 above that in 2017."Not quite an upgrade but confirmation growth will accelerate this year. Nice divi too

martinthebrave - has slipped a bit more. You are right it was getting ahead of itself :-) I will top up soon, just feel this is one where a few top ups now and then will make a nice holding in my retirement.

Back in today. Sold early November believing that the share price had got a little ahead of itself. The dip has only been 5% or so and I don't want to be out of here for long. The October update was excellent and the Forward PE for 2018 is down to C:17x.

That Tempus article seems to have an identity crisis. It claims it's all about long term investment, then recommends you sell a global leader with only a £600m market cap that is upgrading estimates. Buy buy buy!!

Have to say after watching LRD double and then crash I have been much more stringent in the past year or two enforcing my own maximum holding rules. As a result I have been taking regular profits from XPP by top slicing although the first such benefit came from a decision to move my holdings into my ISA account. My current tax cost has more than doubled in value even allowing for the fact I take dividends in shares thanks to my brokers rules. With this months sales I have now withdrawn more than the current tax cost of my investment and XPP remains were I am comfortable at 3.5% of my portfolio but think how much morec I would have made if I hadn't top sliced. This looks like a long runner to me and Tempus sell advice not very strong given the current and on going investment in the future.

Tuesday's Tempus in The Times recommended take profits..... probably a buy signal for the market. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/business/playing-the-long-game-in-investment-j22n9f2wl

I've owned this for quite a while too, initiated as an "income" investment. Nice that it's coming good on the capital front. Not sure why it's a "Buffett Share", tho. If it were I wouldn't own it!

Perhaps it should be consolidated up to £200000 a share! Berkshire Hathaway still has a lot of buyers at that level and this company is basically a Buffet Share he doesn't own.

You mean a share split presumably ?

i don't see the point in a share consolidation to be honest

I bought in 2003 and added in 2008/9. I sold the majority in the low 20's but have held my original 1500 share purchase to this day. It has been a great investment, very happy to hold and take the now amazing divi but maybe a takeout at £45.00 beckons? Anyone think a share consolidation might increase investor interest, for a company with a stand out track record like this one this is a surprisingly quiet board. A happy holder ;o)

Bought for the first time this morning. Still look very reasonable value given the growth. Shame I didn't do so several years ago :-)

They always have a big forward pipeline of R & D and as soon as the suppliers launch the products that have been developed with XPP designed in then its sit back and watch the money being printed. Added a few more this am as well as in the last few weeks. Always been a happy hunting ground and one to hold for the long term with a fairly decent dividend to boot. Plenty more to come especially if this acquisition pans out well

The second ahead statement in the last few months; analysts have seriously underestimated the growth at XPP - quality company.

yes well done to XPP an under the radar share that has consistently performed, by far my biggest holding now. I almost get back in divi each year what it originally cost me to buy them. How I wish I had put more in over the years ;0)
