Duncan Penny, Chief Executive of XP Power, said: "We are delighted to welcome EMCO to the XP Power Group and are excited about the opportunity of offering their products through our sales channel. The Acquisition will enable us to provide our existing customers with a comprehensive product offering in high voltage technologies, a market segment with robust demand fundamentals but one in which we did not previously specialise. We are confident that EMCO will have a very successful future as part of XP Power."

Interesting price movement in ECM today (not sure why) ECM more a distributor of course but as such a bellweather for sales and given its geographical spread noteworthy for XPP and any inference of problems in north america. Re-reading recent ECM RNS showing similar:- "Overall revenue growth in the second quarter slowed to 3% as a result of a slowdown in North American revenues due to weakening US manufacturing output. Continental Europe continues to see strong double digit growth and the UK and Asia Pacific have seen similar trends to the first quarter. " ...Thus any concerns on XPP sales, probably just market driven and suggests atemporary issue. XPP probably a company you should not get too concerned about generally of course. Maybe ECM should just buy XPP and be done with it.

Europe positives offsetting American negative. Otherwise steady as always. I think that given global headwinds the last few years the company is positioned very well to gain from global recovery. Risks are limited and the moat and gross margins widened with lower factory costs (diluted away from China) and greater volume of own products. Growth profile means that a sensible PER be applied, although I'd offset that against the owners earnings being represented nicely by the yield. Positve cash position means that the EV is moderate and thus a valid takeover target IMO. Nice yield means a good investment case at this price and allows a potential significant upside either from a bid or from positive turnover. I have fair value at £16.80 FWIW

Edison have revised down their forecasts I see though? Mgt are well educated to massage analysts forecasts down so they don't miss imho. Looks a bit early to buy back in for me on a short term basis plus I want to see mgt buying stock - they have always bought and sold well as directors and until they buy I don't see things doing anything other than bumping along.

Yes, slightly subdued 3Q order intake, offset by encouraging comments on margins and also design wins which should feed through to orders in due course. Quality outfit.

Cautious tone to the IMS but that seems to be XPP's way. Can't see them missing FY forecast despite soft quarter in the US. N-American rev's were +9% at the HY. Happy to hold, may be a better opportunity over coming weeks if we get a pullback on the indices.

Ex dividend today The first quarter dividend payment of 13 pence per share was made on 9 July 2015. The second quarter dividend of 14 pence per share will be paid on 8 October 2015 to shareholders on the register at 11 September 2015. The compound average growth rate in dividends over the last 10 years has been 17% and over 5 years has been 24%. Not many companies can say that about their dividend CAGR

Last week's events are going to put some big pressures on emerging market currencies IMO. Khazakstan are the first to pop. Others will follow. (mainly commodity driven countries) XPP input cost are purchased in USD for components, Vietnamese Dong, Chinese Yuan for labour costs. £ vs those all have positive charts of late. Revenues for XPP products are realised in USD, Euros and £s mostly I believe. I don't see a fall in selling PRICES for XPP since their products have too much added value and are not simple commodity proportional. I do see some pressure on revenues in the event of a decline in global economics. I don't think its largest markets will be bearing the brunt of any downturn (just side-affects). Net result for me is that input labour cost should decrease thus enhancing margin. XPP is one to hold IMO.

higher highs and higher lows. Nice bowl as CR might say. solid management, sound TS, good business with nice divi and strong fundamentals. Looks like and exhaustion gap with the shooting star candle but the spread can be a killer so top slicing and then adding on the pull back is a high risk strategy. Apart from that whats not to like? woody
