on Trades they are all registered as buys.
I find it useful with a volatile share like XLM to keep my core holding but short them for a short period using a spreadbet when my chart indicators say so.

Unless your a trader, or a daily trader to specific, checking the stock price on day to day basis wont help you in the long run. it will also force your mind to shift the focus away from the real and most important thing, which is the Business itself rather than the price.

No one really knows precisely what is gonna happen in the market in the short run, including management and ourself. A weak ago we said no one will sell the company 10% of his/her shares at 0.80 Pounds because they could sell it at 0.82Pounds directly at higher price and instead of waiting till the settlement day. Now things changed as the price dropped to 0.72 Pounds Some people might sell. I really do not know why they did the offer but I think it is better if they can manage to buy all the 20m shares in one go and finish from it. I suppose time will tell what is their next step, they might buy back again or make a new offer or stop it completely.

Let us remember all that in January 17 the company managed to raise 32M Pounds or 7.5% of the overall shares and already bought back those shares this year and paid like 10M dollar/8M Pounds.

I think the only way to find if the company has created value to shareholders is to look over the long time period.

If you look at the Financial statements from 2013, just a year before they went public, till last year results.

2013 total equity 26.5M dollars Minus goodwill of 2.4M Dollar is 24m dollars total capital invested

2018 total equity 166.8 M dollars Minus goodwill of 23.6M dollar is 143.2 dollars total capital invested

Change in capital invested: 119.2M dollar this is called Incremental capital invested

the company managed to increase the capital by 140M dollars. 82.4M dollars was raised through shares (IPO and Jan 18 new shares) and the rest, 58M dollar raised internally through retained earning.

Now profit, though I always prefer Cash profit but because XLM is a cash cow but I will use profit to be more defensive.

2013 Operating profit 12M Dollars

2018 Operating profit 35M dollars

Change in operating profit: 23M dollars

Return on the incremental capital invested : 23M/119.2=19.3%. In other word, for each dollar the company raised and retained it managed to get extra 19cent or 19% return in extra operating profit. Not to mentioned it already paid more than 50M in dividends in the mentioned periods.

Now, Cumulative years of operating earning 2013 to 2018: 155.6M Dollars

Things will get better this year and forward as less capital moving forward, already bought back 10m dollar and potentially another 15M Pounds, the operating profit will be little less than last year according to their expectations. In other words the return on incremental capital will be higher than the 19%. Not to mention the company already reducing the media apps activity, which will improve margins.

If you bought the overall company at the IPO you would pay 90M pounds, market cap, and you would be taken home over 55M Dollar of dividends, 45M cash in your balance sheet so far and you would also made another 25M dollar profit , potentially this year, you would own amazing websites that print you money non stop, recruiting of sales from old revenue share clients, and the current markers, the US market and many newly regulated markets. WILL YOU SELL YOUR BUSINESS FOR 150m POUNDS?

According to the above I think the company already added value to shareholder and much more to come, if you look at the business itself, Which it tells you completely different story to the market value.

Because the business is really light capital, no debts, and very little need for maintaining the capital/ capital expenditure, the company used the capital mainly for acquisitions and because of all of those reasons you can adjust the above to an even better way to calculate the net profit cash or owner earning after tax and deduct goodwill and cash from equity.
that will make the increment return above 25%

I will end it with what Buffett said:

“Leaving the questions of price aside, the best business to own is one that over an extended period can employ LARGE amounts of incremental capital at very High rates of return.”

Can anyone answer ? If xlm had remained in their buyback program how many shares could they have snapped up in the last week at the current prices ? Because well over 10% (not inc rns due) has been bought at low 70'S in the last few days by yet the tender offer is for 9.51% @ 80p. Is this shareholder value ?

State casinos hope to take NFL bets Sept. 5
Staff, news services

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana casinos are racing ahead with preparations to launch legalized sports betting in early September, looking to seize an advantage over competitors in neighboring states where such wagers aren't yet allowed.

A new state law approved this spring allows betting to start Sept. 1 on professional and collegiate sports.

All of Indiana's 13 casinos and three off-track betting parlors are gearing up for on-site sports wagering. Most say they want to start taking bets before the NFL season starts Sept. 5. They are also working to launch online betting apps, but those might not become available until later in the fall.

Caesars' regional president, Dan Nita, says the company hopes to gain an advantage with a quick start and to attract gamblers to its Hammond casino before Illinois launches sports betting.

123 gmtrader - XLM has now entered the model SCSW portfolio. As it has been bought it is no longer a buy but the top rating in the portfolio, a 'strong hold'.
None of the 17 SCSW holdings are buys...

123 gmtrader, when Warren Buffett bought 10% of capital city he paid premium. Most of the prices will Be offered at a premium with big amount of shares and specially if they have to buy them quickly. They done the offer maybe because of the change of the CEO.

The article mentioned that Xlm price is so cheap and it worth multi baggers, the price was around 63p so they recommended and now you telling us that they change it to strong hold from buy? That is insane most of us know the price is worth over 3 pound per share and an analyst was saying the same then he changed the statue from buy to hold just because the price increased from 63p to 80p company offer. Well not surprise how Buffett manage to benefit billions of dollars from the foolish attitude of the impatient investors.

It is a good report about XLM but ignores the fact that the tender offer has basically been done to quickly raise the share price in order for the leaving bod to sell out at a higher price. Not exactly inspires trust.
Sharewatch have changed their "buy" rating to a "strong hold" rating.

It has so many valuable information regarding XLM operation business and the share price of XLM, the potential of the US markets.

As Malcolmmm already mentioned, they added XLM to their portfolio.

The overall markets are badly down last to days and specially today in Europe. This week, so far XLM share price dropped by about 12% due to Changing CEO, during that time we have seen two new institutions investors bought, over 10% of shares, after the CEO change alert, and one director of the institution investor invested his own money and become the biggest private investor of XLM. There is a big cap now between the 80P offer and the current selling price. In the mean time some states are thinking of regulating the I-gaming business and other countries start consulting on new regulations. Those development are still not adjusted in the current price but the market will always confirm them in the long run when the business start collecting sales from those new markets.
