How many pref shares and what is convertible price? Why do the deal if they do not see ultimate rise in shareprice for all.
I also have been holder/fan for some time, similar co to NWF, and although also at small loss have bought again today at 215 (without the above information to hand). The company does not have a record of overpaying, and on the contrary has generally got a sound record. I see nothing untoward in the recent statements. At any price below present levels surely would be very attractive to predator like NWF.

marvel I have a small number of shares showing a loss at the moment;
The problem was that they took over Eifionydd using preference shares convertible at a price well below the present price which will dilute the shareholders which explains the difference in fully diluted earnings per share from the other figure.

Is this the 3 million shown as goodwill or could it be more?
Do you have an interest in this company or any knowledge which might help?

Sorry to bombard you but there doesnt seem to be a lot of input from anywhere else at the mo.

Think they paid too much for Eifionydd which will require the issue of a large tranche of shares in due course depressing the price.

Have a feeling that the MM's are trying to suck traders in with the small spread in order to get these 150,000 Hunters shares away.Anyone got a spare £300,000 ?

Looks like I was right.Hunter Hall had 253,804 shares left,2.9% of the company and now below a notifiable size. The last trade of 128,804 was obviously part of that holding leaving exactly 125,000 more they will probably get rid of.This is what has been killing the price. This has made these an absolute bargain.Rarely in my experience does a share go below NAV and stay there for long especialy with a balance sheet such as this.Unless Hunter Hall has inside knowledge of a disaster (unlikely),they have created a coiled spring the moment they have finished their fire sale.

Regards to all watchers

Yes looks like we might have seen the bottom here, unless there are any more big sell orders we don't know about.

Well the offer has gradually moved up from the 210.5 low to 2.15 which I paid for my last 500 tranche.

Have we seen the bottom?.

Yes Gateside,my own take is that the same seller is still selling.
Must be desperate to take 201p.Opening up some peoples stop losses too and helping the slide along.Agree fundementals of this company cannot warrant too much more downside.

marvelman...

When the price was around 230p there were some BIG transactions, which went through at 201p. See the RNS from last week.

So would expect this not to fall any lower than the £2 mark.

Does anybody have any knowledge or know of any reason why the share price in this company is in nose dive. Now well below NAV.

Big sales today! 350,000 @ 200/201p.

Problems on the wheat or feed side or a large shareholder getting out in an illiquid market?

May be a chance to pick some up sub 200p.

Am I missing something here?

The turnover for the year ended 31st October 04 was £103.4m
The turnover for the 6 months to April 05 was £55m

PBT for year ended 31st October 31st Oct 04 was £2.6m
PBT for 6 months to April 05 was £1.99m

Surely if a similar performance is achieved in the second half of the year we can expect:
2005 2004

Sales £110m £103.4m

PBT £3.98m £2.6m

Is there something obvious i'm missing?
