Just bought some WWH and a few Digital Animations for good luck! [shr] DavB - 07 Aug'00 - 14:08 - 9 of 18 Took a nice position with igindex a few hours ago, in the money already, I have also heard a juicy rumour and will wait until it is confirmed before posting more. 09/8/2000 11:05 | The reason I sold was that too many times b4 I have been quickly in profit and waited for more to find I was last in the party and nursed a nasty hangover because of it, i.e. i lost some of my profit, this time I thought stuff this I have a nice healthy lump, I am out. Having said that if I had looked at Level 2 b4 selling I may still be in, there is a lot of support and not many sellers. DavB | davb
09/8/2000 10:59 | DavB, Im stuck. Do I sell or do I hold. On the one hand the price seems to be continuing up (presumably as the BARC price recovers)and theres always the likelyhood of a counterbid but on the other hand the takeover is not confirmed yet. If you dont mind me asking what made you sell now? Neil | robber
09/8/2000 10:49 | Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaa DavB | davb
09/8/2000 10:39 | i'd be surprised if they agreed even a 3.60 or so takeover. I'd have expected woolwich to go for well over £4 a share. L. | lazygun
09/8/2000 09:56 | arrrgh - I should know better than to ignore unsubstantiated rumours - congrats to you all | baden
09/8/2000 09:53 | Congrats on starting questionably the thread of the week DavB. What brand of raincoat was it? Perhaps I'd better go buy one :-) | anthonyjb

09/8/2000 08:26 | dymaxion, Thanks - looks like this board requires single quotes around the url for some reason. Steve. | zzaxx99
09/8/2000 08:09 | well done bhoys, you're all well in the money, good call & good ears! pdm | pdm
09/8/2000 07:13 | Just seen it announced on Blomberg: dodddy - that was an uncannily accurate guess of 330p. Judgine from the story, that is exactly the agreed price. To which, all I can say, as a WWH holder sitting on a loss, is "Yeehaah!" Steve. | zzaxx99
09/8/2000 07:06 | barclays and woolwich announce they are talks which may or may not lead to an offer | dodddy
09/8/2000 07:04 | Just heard the Financial Editor of the Express on London Live breakfast show, and he commented in passing that "Barclays in friendly talks with the Woolwich". I think those were his exact words, but I am very clear on the first part: not "may be" or "are said to be". Whether his information is correct or not, I dunno, but it sounds like the rumours are abounding .... Steve. | zzaxx99
09/8/2000 00:28 | Dead Cat Bounce, Not my first post, but I've mostly been lurking here - bit more active on HS, Citybull, Motley Fool. re: the snappy user id - I know it's duff - when I first registered with HS, I tried 7 or 8 user ids and got rejected each time as someone else had already got it. In frustration I went, "right, no-one is likely to be using zzaxx99", and was correct, mainly because no-one in their right mind would want it. However, I got used to it, and I've used it on most/all of the share boards I've registered to (apart from the 'Fool, which I joined before HS), just to keep a consistent identity. 09/8/2000 00:01 | kp-netweb (re yesterdays post) wwh did test 263 this morning, so hopefully that was the springboard, off of the 1/3 speed line exactly! Time will tell. If you're in, suggest a stop at 252.7 . If you're in for a quick profit, suggest sell all or at least 1/3 (to cover stop on other 2/3?) at 290 area. regards toadtrader | toadtrader
08/8/2000 16:43 | zzaxx99 - many thanks for that, I'll be in touch, good luck with WWH and whatever. regards,A | aquila
08/8/2000 15:37 | zzaxx99 , welcome aboard, what do you think of citybull? regards,A. WWH - I'm trying to get through to RBOS at the moment,A. | aquila |
