12/10/2010 22:47 | Hopefully, when we are presented with the interims,WSI will at last flesh out the potential for their task management module to generate very significant revenues. After all,Infor have now been waxing lyrical over the product for several months. "The retail industry has been and continues to be a top priority for Infor, and we take the needs of our more than 2000 retail customers very seriously," said Sandra Rousseau, director, Solutions Marketing, Workforce Management, Infor. "Those customers have made it clear that task management is at the top of their 2010 IT to-do lists, but they need solutions that adjust to the way they do business, not the other way around. By using a modular framework and partnering, we are bringing advanced task management capabilities to market faster than otherwise possible, with the most flexibility we've ever offered in the Workbrain suite." The task management capabilities enable streamlined task-related communication and data exchange among retail locations and corporate and/or regional headquarters. The functionality enables faster creation and deployment of in-store tasks, with built-in efficiency mechanisms such as timers and feedback solicitation, helping ensure execution consistency. The task management module is powered by technologies from WorkPlace Systems, an Infor partner. The module can be purchased and installed separately, giving retailers the flexibility to add only the capabilities they need when they need them, with less disruption to their established business processes." Add these revenues to those starting to flow in volume from OnLine and surely,SURELY WSI might finally deign to indicate to the market that the future is bright-or even radiant ! | mudbath

03/9/2010 13:07 | When WILL WSI reveal just how significant might be the revenues, likely to be generated by its WFM and Task Management technologies.?? Everyone BUT our company seems to have a view !! ==================== August 24, 2010 RIS News Survey - Mobile WFM Comes of Age "If you're using your Smartphone to handle more of your e-mails and other daily communications, welcome to a growing community. Mobile technology is becoming a driving force of change in managing today's and tomorrow's workforce. A RIS News survey, Infor recently sponsored, illuminates just how dramatically mobile tech will revolutionize operations and processes affecting retail employees. Survey respondents say mobile devices will be used by key retail staff members and aimed at locations that will produce clearly measurable, hard-performance results. For example, the survey found that 84 percent of store managers are expected to use mobile devices as a tool, along with 61 percent of sales-floor personnel and regional managers. The devices will be used for a myriad of workforce functions such as scheduling, training, communicating payroll exceptions like overtime, and even filling an open slot. Elements of Task Management were determined to be the most strategic uses of mobile devices in workforce management, with two of the top three responses focused on task management related functions. Nearly two thirds of respondents see mobile devices serving to instantly connect a mobile Web portal for communications and information. As the capabilities of mobile devices continue to improve and adoption rates increase, new usage patterns will emerge. What is clear is that retailers see the advantages of associates at every level returning to the shop floor and performing historically back-office functions whilst remaining visible and productive. It's our charge to ensure applications are extensible to cover all these new WFM use cases. This has been an exciting year for Infor - the new products and developments we are offering make our partners a lethal force in the mid-market business application space." WSI ......."A LETHAL FORCE" ......!!!!! | mudbath
