15/3/2009 11:59 | andrewlewis - 15 Mar'09 - 07:52 - 5878 of 5879 imo deloittes will have all angles covered by their lawyers and at the end of the day it was the Bankers selfishly finished woolies business off. the strange thing is woolies where showing a small profit the previous tax year. imo the Bankers action will bite them back big time in due course. | fazersix
15/3/2009 07:52 | Davy 99 Is there anyway we can challenge Deloitte's appraisal of no money for the shareholders. What is the Government body that regulates Administrators or is it just a free for all. When Mandelson said no to financing WLW's debt to the banks, he signed the deathnell for the company. While giving the Banks Billions to shore up their pension funds. Any thoughts? | andrewlewis
14/3/2009 01:11 | LittleBro2 - 14 Mar'09 - 00:25 - 5876 of 5876 You put that in a nut shell imho it will come back and bite the bankers with vengance ! | fazersix
14/3/2009 00:25 | Bankers wanted their money, saw WLW was asset rich, running up to Christmas and basically ruined a business that could have worked in the name of getting their money back. They succeeded. Succeeded in getting their money back, succeeded in losing thousands of jobs, writting off hundreds of millions of pounds of value, millions in shareholders holdings and providing needless and unchecked amounts of work for DoLittle's. Sickening. Will anything come of it or will anyone have to answer for it? Absolutely no chance. Scandellous. It should be criminal IMO. Out of interest, what happened to SJ? | littlebro2
13/3/2009 15:04 | SL33PY - 13 Mar'09 - 14:56 - 5873 of 5873 Rogue Bankers IMO as usual out for themseves f--- everyone else ! They made mega bucks from woolies to boot. | fazersix

13/3/2009 12:05 | dutch2 - 13 Mar'09 - 10:29 - 5870 of 5870 I would say yes deloittes sent me an email saying nothing remaining for shareholders in this case (Quote). Think after deloittes banks courts and solicitors have milked it dry we have no chance, not forgetting shareholders are last in line to receive any money back. It amazes me where all the monies gone when woolies where showing a small profit the previous tax year, i feel sure this bad act carried out by the the Bank will come back and bite them in the ass, Good luck with any others. | fazersix
13/3/2009 10:29 | Davy99 - the de-listing of WLW shares...is this final nail in the coffin, for us shareholder's ? what % chance do we for any returns on our shareholding? | dutch2
13/3/2009 00:48 | More public misfeasance by Deloittes. They are publicly liable i feel. LOUGHTON: Woolworths staff leave hundreds at risk of fraud 6:31pm Monday 9th February 2009 By Emily Roberts ยป BANK details for hundreds of Woolworths customers could now be in the hands of fraudsters after staff at a local branch dumped till receipts in a skip. Staff at the former Woolworths store, in Loughton High Road, failed to shred confidential papers and instead threw them out with the rubbish just weeks before the shop closed down. Receipts thrown out contained signatures, full bank account numbers and expiry dates which experts have said could easily be used to sell people's identity online. ID security expert Dave Whitelegg said the blunder was "totally and utterly unacceptable." He added: "All retailers have a legal obligation to make sure that customers' personal information is stored correctly, or thoroughly destroyed. That Woolworths failed to do this is totally and utterly unacceptable. If these receipts fell into the hands of scammers, those customers' accounts could easily have been maxed out already." Under data protection laws, customers' receipts and other financial documents must be destroyed or stored securely to prevent them falling into the wrong hands. The bundle of 58 receipts was found by a member of the public who handed them into police, but it is thought that hundreds more from the same site could have already reached the black market. Mr Whitelegg said the receipts would sell for up to £10 each on the black market, usually via websites known as 'dumping grounds'. Scammers use the receipts to glean as much personal information about the victim as possible, including their full name, address and date of birth. They are then able to clone bank cards to withdraw cash, make online payments and even order new birth certificates and driving licenses. The receipts have now been passed to the Information Commissioner's Office, an independent authority set up to protect personal information, which has launched an investigation. | westcoastrich
