31/8/2018 09:36 | Looks like Midatech (MTPH) is starting its long patient journey to success. Eat your heart out topvest/jonwig. PS Watch as he will try to widdle on its prospects. LOL | solonic

30/8/2018 15:26 | do you think that anything posted on this or any other thread makes any difference in the long run? Amazed that the Americans think that thousands of negative Russian Clinton posts could effect the outcome of the US election. the Daily Mail wrote about 8 pages per day slagging off Corbyn at the last election but still he did quite well. In the long run with WPCT all that matters is that some of Woodford's speculative punts do well. Trashing Woodford in the short term makes no difference, apart from the fact that it enables me to have a lower entry price. | careful
30/8/2018 12:14 | And a shareprophet loser to boot. The thousands of adversarial posts by jonwig and his cronies are having no consequence for WPCT. Could he not use his minimal literary skills to better effect? What impotence! | 1tcm1
30/8/2018 11:05 | @ researchanalystman - comparison with VCTs deserves a response. • First, the success record of VCTs over the years has not been inspiring. The better ones have survived and prospered, but they are outnumbered by past dogs which took the fees but didn't fund the research effort to pick the winners. • WPCT is more akin to EIS than VCT - the latter tend not to be first-stage companies. And EIS is even more fraught with risk. (I've been there.) • Success in biotech is predicated on two things. First, deep experience and second, the hard graft of spending a great deal of money supporting the investee companies with research and consultancy work. Woodford can do neither, as his fund has zero income but does have to pay salaries. He has said himself, "I trust the people who run these businesses". For an example of how to do it properly, look at Syncona. • You say the losers appear early, the winners later. You may have a point, but when your losers are among your biggest holdings that leaves a lot of heavy lifting for the rest. It also shows your lack of skill - put most of your money into the dross! PS. Please don't interpret your up-votes as evidence of profundity. | jonwig
30/8/2018 10:04 | Investment reality of a venture capital type fund... long term patient capital type is..The disappointments and non survives happen first andthe real successes come later needing extra capital as theirIdeas grow and blossom and succeed. What you end up in the fund is big percentages of a few great successful companies-Percentage | researchanalystman
30/8/2018 09:25 | The list copped you, though, careful, fair and square, didn't it. They must have inside information, I suppose. | pete_bane
30/8/2018 09:17 | I can think of no better word to sum WPCT up than this - floccinaucinihilipil | ltcm1 |
