16/4/2017 12:30 | I've been considering exponential technology etf from ishares. Well spread by sector and geography. WPCT should be looking to outperform the etf over 5 and 10 yr else why bother? | p1nkfish
03/4/2017 12:47 | PRTA released a positive update on the treatment for Parkinson's yesterday. Perhaps the share price will reflect this on opening...... | gwatson56

27/2/2017 20:09 | "As a cynic I would say a way for management to possibly mentain a book value until something seriously goes wrong with thee unlisted investment and they have to write down the value." Yes, I would have the same view. You just have to remember that unlisted securities are valued by only a handful of people with a greater influence on perceived valuation from those in the business - founders and seed investors. Much of this happens before there is real opportunity for the valuations to be proven or realized. This is at the opposite side of the spectrum to fully listed business where the product or service - at that point - has sold and where the valuation is the market involving many thousands of participants. Use it in this case as a very loose yardstick. As the small businesses develop the correlation between the NAV and underlying assets will improve. | minerve
27/2/2017 19:07 | Toffeeman- Certainly for start-up. It is usual to value the share price at the price per share pbtined in the last round of financing. If no round after the initial finaancing then at the share price obtined during the initial round, This can cause accounting glitches where the the last round was say in convertible prefs or loan stock with a high coupon. | pugugly
27/2/2017 19:01 | I assume it's regulation to post nav - but it must be open to interpretation | toffeeman
27/2/2017 18:24 | Toffeeman - As a cynic I would say a way for management to possibly mentain a book value until something seriously goes wrong with thee unlisted investment and they have to write down the value. | pugugly

05/2/2017 19:17 | V unusual for any trust to have such a large chunk of nav in a single company as WPCT does in Prothena. I hope the board is being sensible. PRTA's full year results are out on the 14th, along with a webcast to listen in on. I see that across all his accounts Mr W holds just under 30% of PRTA ie approx $0.5bn of it. Certainly a big bet! | rambutan2
24/1/2017 18:55 | Yes. Patience. Even at 150p+ there is still likely to be a discount to NAV. | p1nkfish
