19/3/2014 19:55 | Exactly. If this is the end this is good news | trentendboy
19/3/2014 18:09 | Ive had some, this is good news!!..ozzy has basically said the review coming shortly isnt going to outlaw these machines, its going to limit the amount of a single bet (perhaps limits on number of bets per 10 mins or something....all of which means naff all). This revenue stream will supplement the bingo wings tax cuts. And a 5% increase in taxation that comes into effect next year on these machines seems like the best outcome to draw a line under this. | dohnot
19/3/2014 14:47 | Not a very favourable budget for the bookies. Would hold off topping up now as we could see 320 again in the short term. Sold my holding just below 400 from 325. Waiting again. | 2ngh
19/3/2014 14:47 | Budget taxes on fobt | banj
19/3/2014 14:45 | what's the news on this drop? | chester3
17/3/2014 16:24 | I'm into William Hill for the long haul. I'm thinking with the World Cup this year, sponsoring of the FA Cup etc this should be a decent punt. | tricky red
17/3/2014 13:20 | 2NGH or Shugsy... Any updates or opinions on the current market? Want to top up before ex divi but can't quite understand where the share price is going these days.In it for the long term and no doubt the share price is gonna go mid 400, Will probably re-evaluate then if selling is an option. CheersJ | jonojubb
03/3/2014 12:59 | Bit late to the party bonner. The announcement regarding fobt was last year and the correction regarding that has taken place, William Hill has corrected to 100% withdrawal of that revenue stream. The play here is the massive US and OZ markets that it has just entered which eclipse the UK market and could be valued at £10 for those two markets alone. | shugsy

03/3/2014 12:54 | I wouldnt buy into these shares whilst all the uncertainty is around regarding the future of FOBT .Bookies are getting worried hence the recent introdution of you play with limits ( time and money) .The fact is these machines are pure evil and are causing so many problems financial marital suicides .The press have got it in for these machines and rightly so and I would have thought their days on the high street to be numbered .Indeed the next labour government will ban these machines immediately and restrict their use to casinos ,a bit steep I admit as labour were the ones who allowed such demonic instruments of financial ruin to exist in the first place ! I would expect the share price of Bookmakers to collapse when these machines are outlawed and its only a matter of time . | rbonnier
03/3/2014 12:43 | Roofer It's the Russia Ukraine effect, all stocks getting hit hard and likely to remain under pressure while the worrying situation persists. Riskier assets always get hit harder. | shugsy
03/3/2014 11:42 | I agree, if it does go that low ill defo buy back in, the growth in dividend an share price makes this a very attractive strong buy, I just feel the days of holding long term have gone for the time being on ALL stocks R2 | roofer2
03/3/2014 11:22 | I'll top up again if it goes down to 350. These will see 400 again this year, no doubt about that | jonojubb
03/3/2014 11:09 | Looks like lots of investors aren't waiting for the dividend payment, The fall after results is to be expected, so worth watching/ waiting To mid April an buy back in for the rise into the dividend payment IMO R2 | roofer2

01/3/2014 16:18 | Daniel Stewart has maintained its "buy" stance on shares in gambling company William Hill despite a fall in annual pre-tax profit of six per cent to £257m. The broker trimmed its target price to 500p from 555p on the back of an 8% cut in forecasts in 2014 earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation to £359m and earnings per share by 10% to 29.5p. "However we do not find a multiple of 9.3 times 2014 EBITDA particularly demanding for a brand and business with the scale of WMH and we remain buyers of the stock," the broker told clients, adding that the balance sheet is in "good shape at 2x net debt/EBITDA to aid further expansion and revenue from outside of the UK is growing". | martincoops
28/2/2014 23:07 | Very pleased with the results and outlook here after buying in on the recent fall which felt overdone. The two largest positives for me were the growth in mobile, and the impact of the Govt legislation, which I had not fully thought through. I wonder if that will do for William Hill what the RDR did for Hargreaves Lansdown. | connor23
28/2/2014 17:34 | Nice to see a fantastic rise on results, Always a great feeling to see ones good feelings confirmed on a stock. Well done all holders. R2 | roofer2
28/2/2014 15:17 | Good calls recently Shugsy, we said 400 weeks ago on strong results. Easy money and a nice dividend to boot. | 2ngh
28/2/2014 14:13 | Great results! I think it won't be long before it's up and beyond 400p and holding there!Would be interested to hear anyone's targets for topping up before ex-divi!? | jonojubb
28/2/2014 13:29 | Results received well. Break out of downtrend appears to be on the cards. Well done to all who called correctly. | speedsgh
28/2/2014 07:55 | See what today brings. | shugsy
28/2/2014 07:44 | Nice results and good to see an impressive dividend increase. The final point they make is correct. Yes, the new tax on the UK will be painful but will be worse for small players who may exit. Leaves Hills a larger market share. Australia is doing well Tempting to stock up | trentendboy
27/2/2014 16:53 | And if they don't, then its going down fast. Not long to wait now! | orado |
