It would be interesting to know how people acquired their shares in White Star? I was 'conned' into buying 300,000 at 1.5p in April 2007, from an outfit called Sigma Financial Management Ltd. They said that the company had interests in properties on the London Olympic site, although I have seen no mention of this anywhere. Not doing too well at present, but perhaps it will all come to fruition in 2012 - or not!

We seem to be the only ones chatting on this board.
Remember this is a Parker Rowe recommendation - in some people's eyes a poisoned chalice.
One can only live in hope - personally I have lost more money selling at the wrong time instead of being patient and waiting for the 'big, big bounce' - but I am an amateur.

New management, but now they have put their own money in at 1p that was 40% above the current share price at the time, no one thoughs money away, they must feel they can do something with this company.

WORRIER: Yes - know what you mean. Someone did something similar with Ptarmigan Property. But it's up again this morning

I see no reason for the share price rise other than the likelihood of a pump and dump operation.

Meant to say 40% above current share price.

New directors put their own money in placing 40% share price, they must have faith they can turn this around.

Look at the facts:

floated by Stephen Dean

during a period when it was non-trading, it ran up expenses in 6 months to 31/3/06 of £185,000 (I'd guess a lot of that was directors salaries to you-know-who and chums).

bought 6 apartments for £700,000 somewhere in Cyprus, no idea what they might really be worth but I think this is exceptionally high risk, and the expenses added £100,000 to the originally suggested purchase price (why ? and who got the £100,000 ?); I can tell you that similar apartments on the same development let for £200-300 per week, depending on season, but from www.holidaylettings.co.uk it looks like they are having problems letting them at all.

bought £303,000 worth of shares in Ionian, another Dean venture; sold them for under £30,000 net.

I am not reassured that the John Hemingway has joined the board; he also sits on the board of Artisan, another ex-Dean vehicle, and to paraphrase Lady Bracknell, to sit on the board of one Stephen Dean company may be regarded as a misfortune; to sit on two looks like carelessness.

if you buy the shares at 1.25p, even if they get their cash back from Cyprus without a huge loss, you are paying a big premium over asset value and frankly, for what ?

From experience, this type of promoted stock can go down as fast -or faster than it moves up. Buyer beware
