ST just upped his fair value to 130p and target price from 90p to 120p, he tends to be conservative, expecting upgrades ahead of numbers in Feb.

Yes a good statement, if frugal, almost reluctant to share the good news. I believe IC will cover them later today, that might add some detail.

Pleasing statement today. Should push these into the nervous nineties.

Cenkos issued a trading statement this afternoon, from it this:-

"...On the back of improving economic conditions and corporate activity, we are pleased to report that our current level of trading is stronger than anticipated. Our out-turn for the year to 31 December 2013 in terms of revenue and profits is expected to be materially ahead of 2012's results and our previous expectations. We continue to increase the size of our corporate client base and have a healthy pipeline of work for Q1 2014...."

Good numbers out from Brewin Dolphin this morning, profits up 22% on mainly client wealth management, and Numis yesterday massively increased on IPO and M&A activity. Cenkos shares are being chased at the mo.

I don't see why we wouldn't be sharing in, we have a strong asset value too probably 60% of market cap, I wonder if we might be attractive to one of the bigger players at some point.

FT this morning:-

...In the past few months the broking sector has begun to bounce back, and many groups have highlighted the strengthening of their initial public offering pipelines. Recent IPOs included Foxtons, the London estate agency, and housebuilder Crest Nicholson.
Among the small-cap brokers, FinnCap retained its lead with 94 Alternative Investment Market-quoted clients. Cenkos trailed in second with 83 clients, ahead of WH Ireland's 73...

November was definitely a busy month for the corporate group:

And take a look at the latest WHI Spy on the website: "According to
research from Dealogic, the 59 floats this year have raised an impressive $12.6bn; this compares to just $2.8bn across 35 issues at this time last year."

I noticed an article in todays Aimzine bulletin about brokers changing fortunes, it's specifically about Cenkos but I'm sure relevant here also. I won't print the lot as they ask not to but it's free to sign up:-

Life has been particularly difficult for AIM Nomads and Brokers. Many of their clients have left the market and the level of money being raised had fallen away. In 2012 the total money raised from new and further listings on AIM was £2.56 billion. This was the lowest AIM "money raised" figure since 2003 and compares to the peak of over £16 billion raised in 2007. 2013 has been another poor year with only £2.5 million raised up to the end of October but things are picking up and the level of capital raising in recent weeks has been particularly encouraging. This is good for AIM brokers............

And now Whelan sells out his stake -- reckon it was the 1,037,073 sold yesterday (that's the number of shares he had, meaning that he's out completely now). A lot of changes on the shareholders register at the moment..

Second RNS today was interesting, Gates has increased Oceanwood's stake, I think you're right Gargoyle2 100p doesn't seem unrealistic, I believe ST is going to update them in one of his columns soon too, that usually stimulates a bit but even without that a trading update next month should do the trick.

Interesting RNS today. The new 3% shareholder seems to be a senior guy in the WHI corporate department (check the WHI website under 'key people'), so he probably has a fair idea how the company is performing. It would be interesting to know over what period he acquired the rest of his stake. A good sign wnayway. For the chartists, the share price has just broken out above its 18 month high too. I can see these getting back to a quid pretty quickly. They were almost double that 6 years ago.

Thanks isalolly. I'm not sure that buying when you know that one investor wants to sell 5% and another wants to buy 5% constitutes insider trading.

Not surprised to see the price ticking up. I tried to top up this morning and couldn't get any more than 1000 at the 75p asking price, so ended up not buying. Director buys and Oceanwood Capital coming on board (for over 5%) have to be positive signs. Haven't managed to find out much about Oceanwood, other than it is has an 'event driven' approach to investment. Not sure what the particular event here is. Maybe Killingbeck's deal with the ESOP - that gives him some good targets to aim at.
