Could the exceptional a poster there refers to be settlement of court case/expenses with former CEO? I can't recall the precise timeframe so it might have been in last year's numbers and be something else altogether.

I and others asked Paul Scott of Stockopedia's Small Company Value Report to take a look in order to get a critical and neutral view. This is his take:

I like Paul Scott's analyses in general and would certainly not dismiss his thoughts. In fact, I think his research might help him warm to it further. WEY is clearly an investment where you expect major growth if you are to take it seriously as an investment.

...so listening to that it appears that Infinity could be our Trojan Horse into the Asian market... WEY might need a mini-chairman to run Infinity from somewhere in SE Asia while the rest of the board concentrate on the rest of the company.

Again I hear the rumour of TV adverts! (From the chairman no less)

This might be the AI we're talking about.

(reading this you can see a huge advantage WEY have here - their tutors are based in the UK......)

There's also the school population bulge that'll hit secondary schools in a couple of years. Greenwich is short of 4400 places, Barking and Dagenham 3000, Bromley 2600. Teacher recruitment is increasingly difficult in London (especially outer boroughs, where the lower level London weighting is too low). There's no point building new schools (even if there was anywhere to build them) to cover a problem that will be over in a few years. The B2B side of WEY is in the right place at the right time for tremendous growth.

Good to have you back again Woodcutter. Appreciate your viewpoint and happy to see a very positive reaction to today's results. Wish I had bought more last week now. Worth watching for any dips as you say. They are bound to come.

woody: You could actually see a reverse outcome. If government spending comes under pressure it could actually be CHEAPER for local authorities to use WEY Education then buy in extra-equipment or extra-teachers.

And if banking jobs get cut, you could see posh people move from public schools to Infinity as a stop gap during hard times.

But putting all that aside, since the EU is "booming" at present any potential downside in the UK would be offset by growth in the EU anyway (especially for language schools).

Just been back thro' the thread and noticed the discussion vibe on LTG. i sold both LTG and RWS recently.

RWS looked over valued and the chart began to look a little weaker but has since made a very promising acquisition which resulted in an oversubscribed placing so that's back on my watch list again.

LTG i sold when the chart began to fail. It's since moved up considerably but I'm very cautious on it. I may be wrong but it seems a lot of the revenue is coming from government departments which could be susceptible to cuts in a sever downturn, who knows. This is also an issue for the B2B part of WEY's business too.

On the plus side children still have to be educated so WEY may have some stength there. Companies unlike governments don't have to continue to provide education opportunities. Having said that i don't see a down turn in the near future so LTG is back on my watch list too, but i'll wait for a pullback.

with much of next years contract revenue about to land in this year results it will be interesing to see how they cope with that next year. The share price may well pull back quite a bit.

apologies for covering a number of stocks which are off topic.

Incidentally i don't see any correlation between LTG and WEY apart from the fact they are both internet based learning. The business activities schoolling verses adult training and education are very different. Do you see bricks and mortar establishments with this kind of link?

on the WEY results they're very positive and it looks very much like this is now one to put in the bottom drawer and leave for five years. i'm not inclined to try and trade the highs/lows as i did in the early part of the trend. Indeed adding on any retracements now seems a distinct possibility.

Can anyone identify that sound?................

"Underlying annual turnover has now grown 40%, 50% and 60% in the last three years and this
enabled the Group to fund significant investment in a number of initiatives during the year. It is
expected that turnover will continue to grow materially both organically in the Group's
established businesses and from the businesses currently in development phase as they
mature".

That is the sound.... Kerching!!

NY Boy:

I've given the AI some second thoughts.
I'm very pleased with the huge marketing push for next year and added to that I think the AI could actually help with the marketing.

Many schools (B2B) would like to get involved in this and I suspect science based teenagers would love to be part of the "experiment". It could also feature in newspaper articles (nearly free adverts if you like) and research documents online (also free adverts).
