nurdin: there is a summary of what the "Good schools guide" says:

....(sounds quite good)

Unusual Schools
Cast aside all preconceptions you have ever had about schools: classrooms, desks, kids, clangour, clutter, the smell of sweaty changing rooms or long-boiled cabbage (ok, probably quinoa salad these days), dusty tomes/sleek IT, the head sweeping by with a swish of his/her gown, the pupils stiffened against the corridor wall, cheering from the pitches, sweet singing in the choir and so on – and welcome to InterHigh.

Founded in 2005 in response to a perceived need for an alternative to physical school, InterHigh is an entirely virtual school, where students and teachers never sit together in the same room; indeed never see each other, yet manage 4 hours intense tuition a day and achieve the kind of results any non-selective school would be happy with.

Who on earth would want that?
Well, a surprising number of young people

Thanks netcurtains.Have now spoken to the Chairman who confirmed that WEY are not Ofsted regulated for the reasons you mention.Ofsted need bricks and mortar venues to visit and inspect...which I knew but had a feeling they had made some allowances for e learning schools.Anyway WEY are among the top 15% of schools for GCSE success results.

Looks a nice site, interesting to read the testimonials from the young learners from abroad, they are enjoying it and more importantly they are the future. This is hugely scaleable globally.

Investors seem to be coming back again before the busy autumn period

Look forward to the next update from the CEO

squidd: you can make the twitter feed go into different languages by adding the language code at the end (but normally you would use the google "translate this" feature

As they ramp up (this is a LIVE BETA web site) they will obviously develop versions in languages popular amongst their pupils - arabic, russian , chinese ... Give then a while to get started!!!

English is good enough for live beta - lets see how this works before they go too far down the line of micro managing different sites via locations.

The Q site looks very attractive - and exciting for investors. Excuse my ignorance, but can I assume that someone in Mongolia, looking to learn English will see the site in their own language?

New site looks really good - and it appears to have had some trial users already...

(goes from pre-school to pensioners)

This could be huge. Remember English is the only GLOBAL language and everyone wants to know it.
The market is literally billions of people.

The twitter feed has started too

bones: psst: you should log onto the language school web site tonight - its quite possible the new site is open for business but it has not reached our browsers yet (its being rolled out as i type). Its obviously just the opening day so dont expect too much when you see it - but its there (well on its way)

netcurtains, I have been in recent contact with the company in order to get a lot more information in detail about their activities as I am not that happy with my current summary of the meeting which gr1982 kindly added to his header post. I asked the company to take a look at this thread to see what they thought.

I now have a summary with a bit more detail, all of which is strictly in the public domain already via their websites and general information available. Having it distilled in one header would be good so I am contemplating starting a new thread with this information but I think it best wait until we have the latest RNS update before doing it.

New language school kicks off in September I believe, so not sure how to judge it a success yet. Maybe initial enquiries?

the two big "black hole" items that would be nice to have some news on would be:
a) Local Authority business - is this going well
b) New Language School - is it looking like a great success.

the other back burner item might be foreign students signing up for the "grammar school" concept (perhaps teens from middle east or se asia or russia)

I have T/U diaried for 25th August probably because this was the date they updated market last year. In any event shouldn't be much longer to wait. Wouldn't be looking to sell at this juncture.

I was thinking with the new Exam centre they will be able, for the first time, to say what grades their pupils are getting - officially (at least I think so). I, as a believer, expect the grades to be a real eye opener.... Perhaps we might get some info on numbers and grades??

This is certainly going to be WEYs year .... but we need 2018 and 2019 and 2020 to be brilliant too . I'm sure they might be.

This could be one of the "Millionaire" stocks that people talk about (ASOS, IQE etc) where early investors have become rich on the back of the stock ...

On the other hand - who knows..... Early days but looking good.

It'll be before start of school year. Chairman said towards end of August at the investor meeting so probably early next week is my estimate.
