"Wey had an excellent year in terms of turnover growth, technical implementation and the acquisition of Academy 21. With substantial cash resources of over GBP4 million we are well placed for further significant growth in the current year and beyond. In setting our budget for this year the Board has taken a prudent approach to the timing of overseas expansion and expects to hit its core targets primarily through organic growth. Any acceleration of overseas revenues will enhance the group's results"

What the chart is telling us IMO

It says the market is questioning the validity of the current business model that WEY are using.

In that at this point in time ... the market is not sure it is working

Again IMO I am pretty sure that this Government is not working either , including the minister for education and all the other ministers ... too many holidays for starters

Running a country should be a 52 week job not a part time one

To be honest, buywell3, going by some chip shops round here, some chip shop owners can't run one either.

I think investing that has anything whatsoever to do with this government is a bad idea ... education for example

Sure it's needed ... but the present government have not the brains to run a chip shop.

Indeed Net. I hold AOR for spectacular potential (and ARC, which has cash, profits, growth and dividends!). I follow TRD, and would be put off at current price only by the shareholder dispute.

As for WEY, I would like to see the next trading update without David Massie's input. Seemed to be a key man on strategy so it is intriguing where things are at. I rather hope they stick to their knitting, viz Interhigh, Infinity and Quoralexis.

It clearly is pretty cheap, but so is AOR and TRD (two other stocks investors in WEY have). Its a buyers market out there.
Both TRD and WEY have big cash piles, make profits and are growing.
Bang on trend.

Seanworld , that 1.2m sale at 8.55p was timed at 3.34pm on Friday. Spread was 8.5-9.0 at the time.

That all being said, if I had some spare cash just now, I would be tempted at 8p!!

VOX! Got to watch those kinds of media promos. Someone with a large line of stock in a thin market needs a way out. Tap up a favour from someone who can big up a stock and then you sell into the demand. Centuries old technique. Just read "Reminiscences of a stock operator" (Lefevre) for this and other market shenanigans that have always been practised. Essential reading for the careful market orienteer!

WEY was highlighted on VOX podcast. Probably the reason for the increased interest! Hopefully they all stick around for the journey rather than selling when the next hot stock appears.

Mcfly79: When the chips are down, people are looking for companies that make a profit, are growing fast and have money in the bank.
WEY ticks all the boxes.

Hopefully, touchwood etc etc, 2019 might prove to be a great year for WEY .

So the company can now pay dividends. The company had £4m of cash at the end of August and that's forecast to rise to £5.5m by the end of Aug 2019. The market cap is £10.4mFrom conversations with David in the past I think the cash was being held in case the right opportunity game along, such as ramping up investment in China if the opportunity arose. Now that David Massie has gone I wonder if the company will focus more on growing the core business. If so such a large cash buffer may not be required.

Miton: "Overall, this strategy has generated significant capital gains for our shareholders since launch. For example, the company's holdings in Wey Education (WEY) and Versarian (VRS) were trimmed at an earlier stage than the holding in Zotefoams (ZTF), which has been retained in full despite its major share price appreciation....

...Zotefoams is the trust's third biggest holding at 2.9% of assets while Versarian ranks 17th at 1.4% and Wey at 40th on 0.9%."

Unfortunately, and in this current market, until there is some positive news, one has the feeling that the share price will continue to drift down and down......

I wonder where the bottom will end up?

See Garth - they are excellent at listening to small investors.
ITs a great little company.

Following my previous criticism of the InterHigh/A21 GCSE offer it has been good to see evidence that their Rescue GCSE programme is targeted at the main GCSE specs taught in mainstream schools.

It would be good to get an update from WEY in December on how the new year is progressing. This is potentially meant to be the "break out" year and "IF" there is a sign that it is, it would be good to see.

We are getting a lot of extra InterHigh twitter adverts so they are pushing the boat out a bit more than normal.

These sort of tweets are becoming more and more common on their twitter feed - a lot of activity this November.
