Now where are those Europeans lolUK pubs and restaurants struggling to find staff before 'pingdemic' crisisHospitality firms such as pubs and restaurants were already struggling to find enough staff before they were hit by "pingdemic" absences caused by employees being told to isolate by NHS test and trace, according to official figures.Revenues were still below 70% pre-pandemic levels at the end of May, according to data from the Office for National Statistics released on Monday, with pubs and nightclubs faring even worse. The sector is recovering from the lows it experienced in lockdown but the figures suggest the rebound could be slowed by the difficulty that businesses still face in finding staff to fill a rising number of open positions. There were an estimated 102,000 job vacancies in hospitality between April and June, nearly five and a half times higher than the 19,000 recorded in December to February, and more than 20% higher than pre-pandemic levels.

3 million plus people now confinfined to their homes. They don't feel safe enough to go to pubs with people without masks or distance .Many of them potential wetherspoons customers, as mine is like the Chapel of rest through the midweek and breakfast time .It will be impossible for them to get back to the level of trade before Covid .FACT

I got rid of the App as I don't want to miss my holiday.I test myself every 2 days with a home testing kit .Its not 100 percent ,but will be just as much use. as I'm almost certain to come into contact with someone that's got Covid in the next few weeks .Everyone that goes out of the house will.

Lockdown in September to save Christmas. That'll be the story.

'Professor Lockdown' says Britain might have to shut down again in months - but urges the nation to be 'patient' and wait to see if cases start falling by September or stay high in a 'worst-case scenario'

Thats from the Scottish Times. If you don't think its a lot then fair enough .I couldn't care less actually my niece is very poorly The number of young people with Covid-19 in Scottish hospitals has doubled and is now higher than at the peak of the second wave, and more deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours than any daily total since the end of March.Public Health Scotland has reported that 135 people aged 20 to 39 were admitted to hospital with the coronavirus in the first week of July, more than in early January at the peak of the second wave.

GOZZIE2, can you put a number on "Young, unvaccinated people are showing up at hospitals with Covid 19 - in some cases being admitted to intensive care and put on ventilation - in disturbing numbers".

Very few I think, however you found the quote.

This morning the information is that its looking like there will be 2,000 to 3,000 hospitalisations a day in the next few weeks .That's a little less than around January because of vaccine .The NHS will be disrupted and will have many cancellations ,but we are just going to have to get on with it .Sensible people will take precautions ,but I fear as people see these numbers ,as I've always said, people could CHOOSE not to visit crowded venues such as pubs .I will take the risk as I see fit .I would prefer to visit a venue knowing people have been vaccinated. I will look for Covid passport pubs .Then I can keep out of the way of kreature and the gang lol

Well I mentioned this testing each day is the way out of this .He reads my posts, then goes on the recommendation about 2 to 4 weeks later. He has done on every stage of this pandemic lol.Its pretty obvious this testing each day will eventually be the answer .Why not do it sooner .It can't fail to work better than the current system.

So when this farcical app affects him he finds a way round it but the million others not to mention business and the NHS have to suffer the consequences of a system that no longer works.

Unbelievable.

Ah So the prime minister doesn't have to isolate ,even though having been in contact with someone that has Covid .Not like members of my family that have lost much needed money through being pinged recently. Well we are all in it together lolThat's gone down well with them .
