22/10/2020 09:55 | A shareprice spike this morning. Buyers here hoping for govt to ride to the rescue? I reckon gov will be expecting shareholders to shoulder the burden too. I anticipate a wave of rights issues across most businesses, especially hospitality, to get through the next six months. 'Spoons has managed to keep its share price up, but my guess is that it will halve by January. GLA. | pikemanspike
22/10/2020 08:19 | China warned of "consequences" when the UK and US rightly made their views known in regards to the riots in Hong Kong, with China deeming it as "interference" there was always going to be payback. Hey presto! 'Covid 19'. China may not be able to compete 'militarily' with the US (not far away though) but they are No1 'Top Dogs' in the 'Trade department' and again China has played a blinder! Now we are saddled with a 'Covid debt' which will take decades to repay!. | johnwise

I dabbled with short selling years ago but got caught up by leveraging too much and the result was a margin call and a crystallised loss. Am still fascinated trying to understand share price movements but it is an enigma to me! | chinahere

21/10/2020 18:04 | The ' (d) Owners' earnings per share ' was reduced - they had added, rather than subtracted a figure. The end result was actually more negative than the first so the share rise can't have been from that - perhaps the release made shorters buy because it would need a lot of time to read and understand? | chinahere
