I enjoyed the app to be honest .I've not always been a fan of wetherspoons service it can take a while if you are not a regular stood at the bar . I used the app and 5 mins before I finished the drinks I ordered another why not at the unbelievable prices and thought the service was superb .Goodnight all

Quite funny actually I'm sat near the door guessing which customers will argue about masks and rules .I'm almost always correct its a new game lol .Arrogant ones take 2 seconds to take it off way before they sit down .Might be this Black dragon at 8 percent thats making me amused .Im actually loving the app not moving its like being on the cruise that I miss .What a strange time this is .

This clever virus will probably not be infectious Christmas day. It's also not infectious after 10pm

The scenes I have seen on news items this morning on the tube etc doesnt bode well for the pubs staying open imo as I feared .Street parties they are calling them .Its a minority I suppose but its the headlines and they will probably close the whole industry if the covid cases rise sharply as I think they will .That's without the bad experiences of people getting fed up of waiting and queuing etc.

This is what we found unless you use the app you are going to be waiting ages they just dont have the staff to provide table service.Typically in non spoons outlets we found 1 or 2 people serving when there might be over 100 people in and it takes ages for the reasons you describe can not see it changing unless they take on a huge amount of extra staff which is not going to happen.

Coronavirus: The workers most at risk of losing out as focus turns to 'viable' jobs

Sky's Ian King examines the merits of the chancellor's plan as critics accuse him of throwing those on furlough to the dogs.

It is hard to see why an employer, struggling to stay in business and uncertain about the future, might be prepared to pay this additional cost rather than taking the easier option of laying off workers.

The Bank is predicting a rise in the jobless rate to 7.5% by the end of the year, up from the current 4.1%, but that was a prediction made before the government's latest curtailments on social movement announced earlier this week.

The OBR sees the jobless rate being closer to 9% - translating to a total of around 3.1 million unemployed.

I think JDW are better placed than most pubs as they get footfall throughout the day. The set up is virtually a cafe and pub, the worry is another lockdown but that may harm the economy too much, a last resort.
