16/8/2010 14:27 | slowly slowly catch a monkey. WTN is coming down but very slowly, largely due to poor liquidity. 225p next target then the trend line. 185p is support and fib, but i'd be wary as that would signal a major trend break, it may be hit on an intraday low, but i've a feeling we won't see lower than 215p. | douglasallen
15/8/2010 19:29 | Don't forget that historically, WTN's share price struggles in the period around November. This could be the period when we get our 185p target if it ever does materialise. Please accept my post as speculation and not something I'm actively hoping for or planning for. | rs2ooo
12/8/2010 23:19 | 45639. That's a fair number of page views, not unique hits, for a thread with 750 odd messages. We are being watched! (cue entrance of Skullder & Mully and X-Files theme). | eenyweeny
10/8/2010 21:51 | Hi folks. In post 696 of 18 July I stated that my charts expected a price between 185p - 209p by 18 Aug. Well time is nearly up. Price has however proven more resilient around this 250p area. A good sign for holders. I am still holding fire on any new direction. I'll give it another 7 days to allow a trade signal to appear. Don't forget, my style is 90% technical. Therefore as my targets are not being achieved I assume Mr Market knows something of a more fundamental nature that will affect WTN price movements and is providing support at current levels. I await its revelations as do us all. | eenyweeny
06/8/2010 14:59 | Start of a nice run or?? | mcmather
06/8/2010 13:57 | Notice Blackrock picked up 137K shares yesterday. It's no mug. The picture's firming. | pbracken
06/8/2010 12:13 | Sorely tempted to add today, and probably will - but not until I see the fallout from the release of the NFP figures, due in a hour or so. | pbracken
06/8/2010 12:11 | I may not have seen the latest note - the forecast I quote was published mid July. | pbracken
06/8/2010 11:21 | Was that published the other day? Western Coal Target Cut To C$7.50 From C$7.80 By Canaccord Genuity >WTN.T i.e. 465p | edmondj
06/8/2010 10:00 | With CANA forecasting 55p EPS this year, rising to 72p next, WTN is cheap as chips. | pbracken
05/8/2010 23:16 | eenyweeny, Sympathise because I've been having problems with incompetent solicitors too. Trying to string out Probate. For them its an opportunity to make money; for me its a once in a lifetime issue to get resolved. | hpotter
04/8/2010 19:14 | EdmondJ: "No problem; I might have done same re. CGT, further up." Yes and IHT. Aim shares do not benifit from a lower CGT rate anymore as has already been highlighted. In addition there is no IHT benefit where the shares of a company are registered on a recognised stock exchange (like the TSE). Therefore their is no IHT benefit for WTN as an AIM share. The only downside of going mainmarket that I can think of is slightly higher cost, but I think this is marginal. Benefits are highlighted in the press release, and in addition I think it likely that the spread could come in. I don't know if FTSE250 inclusion is possible, but if it were I think it may have been mentioned in the statement. Given that Canada is the liquid primary market, I don't think it qualifies. Moving to the main market is very logical step that lots of other companies are doing. Nothing particularly exciting that I picked up in the conference call. | sammu
04/8/2010 19:00 | Positive words from James Faulkner on Watshot.com. He calls the shares a steal at this price. | jhanson
04/8/2010 16:57 | FT Business section page 21 "According to government data India could face a nearly 50 million tonnes of thermal coal shortage by end March 2011. However, independent analysts warn that the coal shortage could exceed 200 million tonnes by 2012 as the number of power projects is set to double by then." | lasata
04/8/2010 14:53 | Not gone down too well then over there..... | mcmather
04/8/2010 14:45 | Production for Q1 in US and canada looks to be in line with expectations produced in March. Small UK production expectation drop from 300K to 185K for the year. Not sure yes if the revenue outcome and cashflow are good, bad or inline. | sammu
04/8/2010 14:06 | In fairness the dating is confusing/misleading IMO. They deserve a rap over the knuckles. But hidden behind that confusion seems to be a tale of progress. I'm waiting to see what interpretation the TSX punters will have on the results. | fuiseog
04/8/2010 14:01 | No problem; I might have done same re. CGT, further up. Solicitors: wholly understandable! Best see what the conference call/webcast has to say... | edmondj
04/8/2010 11:57 | Presumably referring to the '2011' financial year because it ends in 2011? Yawn, I am mainly interested in contract prices achieved versus production costs, and management seems to have the latter sorted. | edmondj
04/8/2010 11:54 | I've just tried reading the RNS release of Q1 Results. THE BLOODY DATES ARE WRONG ! ! ! Which jibbering numbskull approved this for release? The opening lines. . . News ReleaseWTN 10-17 Western Coal Announces Fiscal First Quarter 2011 Results ... 2011 Results... jeepers that's 12 months away in the future! This report is riddled with datum errors, they are shifted by 12 months everywhere. The sentiment and overall guidance may be more believable but it makes me worry about the true accuracy of such a release! I have sent WTN a terse message! | eenyweeny
04/8/2010 10:23 | That link still takes you to BNN, 'Randy' not mentioning WTN though! | edmondj
04/8/2010 10:16 | It seems that at that time there weren't many fund managers and analysts foreseeing the tightening coming in China!!!! | phil0001
04/8/2010 10:07 | Post 463 fuiseog; apologies, I was out by 6 weeks. Must have missed it hitting '10 bucks' on the TSX at the end of June 2010...... "phil0001 - 24 Mar'10 - 14:16 - 463 of 734 Some interesting comments from this fund manager/analyst answering questions on WTN last night in Canada. Could be over 10 bucks in the next 90 days!!
