"There is, however, a formal political process to undergo in California, suggesting that a 2021 launch is realistic."

So the fireworks don't start until 2021 that's if it gets passed.

"As a result, the company has had no shortage of informal offers from other interested parties in the space, specifically in the areas of software deals, strategic alliances and, at the operating company level only, mergers and even acquisition."

Any company can claim to have informal offers you don't have to prove damn thing. Its only formal offers that count. What investors also have to bear in mind is that large gaming companies are not interested until the market for online gaming and sports betting in the US opens up. Once it has they will start pitching for licenses themselves offering far more to the respective States than Webis. So all this talk of first mover advantage is rubbish. If you want a comparison think of tiddler AIM oil companies that tell you they have acquired exploration licences in Farawayland. Its meaningless until a 100 billion barrel field of recoverable oil is discovered. When this happens the government smells money so sidelines the AIM tiddlers for serious players like Shell, BP, Texaco etc.

This is exactly what will happen to Webis and I say this because their licence runs out in the same year that the legislation is expected to be passes 2021 (Coincidence?). In the meantime they'll trundle along reporting reduced losses after reduced losses. The one good thing and the most important thing for PIs is that this is not a company that dilutes and dilutes. Everything else is immaterial until the online betting market is fully legal.

Yes indeed BP. A clear message that WEB are in play, but a predator is going to have to pay a multiple. WEB know how valuable their assets are.

So they are saying they have the US license and a big player from UK that cannot get one could pay top dollar from Web to get it ?

"In terms of strategy, the repeal of PASPA in May 2018 was something of a game changer for Webis Holdings plc. As expected, there is a huge focus on the USA as the land of opportunity for expanded gaming, especially with very tough competitive conditions for operators in many other jurisdictions, especially in the UK. As a result, the company has had no shortage of informal offers from other interested parties in the space, specifically in the areas of software deals, strategic alliances and, at the operating company level only, mergers and even acquisition. The Board continues to assess all these avenues for the benefit of shareholders but is aware that the increasing suite of USA licences, together with our USA established operations and relationships, have created a significant asset, and one that should not be undervalued".

This is the most important bit though....

Lol...good old Webis. He did say. Bid approach or merger now to keep things ticking over. But not informing the market, or did he.

The Californian Constitution has to change to allow online betting and that cannot be done before 2020. This is a dead money until then.

California missed their deadline for introducing a sports betting bill on Friday albeit this year was never expected. Not such if that changes anything here as Webis just renewed their license for two years?

web is very volatile....which I dont mind. May well fall back to 2p. I cannot be out of this stock. News might come at any time. Or it might take a while. No idea.

The billionaire majority holder is not going to give this away; he knows its got a big foot in the door.

Thats one of the best things about Web.....no one is screaming placing. They only do one every 5 years and very reluctantly.

So nothing false here.....California will sign sports betting and a bill is already before the legislature. They want those tax dollars....but things like this take time in such a huge US state. So patience and buy a few a few more on a slow day is my strategy. Never lost money on Web and got 11p on a big spike before when it was named Bet.

Nothing wrong with people taking profits after such a good rise this year. However, I am more interested in the 20x50k buys that have gone through today and of hearing news re ballot signatures, as well as the expected BOD update re deals and possibly mergers and acquisitions.

Any views on why the response was not grater and why the drop. On the surface seems like a good medium term investment. It has been as high as 5p
