"The A1 Alpha scheme sought to capitalise on the expansion of higher education in England, particularly after 2015, when the then chancellor George Osborne removed a cap on student numbers.

But the project appears to have run into trouble partly because of a glut of student accommodation in the private sector.

Only just over half of the 2,000-plus student rooms across the scheme’s 19 buildings — at sites including Bradford, Huddersfield, Leicester, Loughborough, Preston and Stoke — were occupied in February, according to one person familiar with the situation."

We didn't see that 250 mark being hit since that target was issued.
There is weakness in the share price, I can't see any event happening to get back on track on the short term. Hopefully in a year or two. Let's see.

Jefferies reiterate Buy today. They had a 250p target in 2017 when they initiated coverage, so hopefully their target has increased since then!

Notification of major holding on 6th said he still had 1.27% of voting rights, so I assume this was the size of his share holding on the 5th.

On the BUR site someone saying that City Wire are saying that Woodford has sold his entire £50m holding in WJG.

I can’t ever recall a supposed U.K. general equity income UT being suspended like this. This carried an illiquidity risk like the daft Property UTs but to stick blue sky unlisted in a UT was daft beyond belief. Bought some more WJG this week but missed the bottom as I was driving. Good value here IMO.

Woodford does have an Investment Trust. I don’t understand why people invest in Unit Trusts as they always carry the risk that has just occurred.

It will be good to see him gone. If he had started an investment trust instead of a fund none of this volitility would of happened.

Cool - looking at the 36.2m volume yesterday vs the c20.7m he held looks like he has probably sold the lot. I note looking back through the previous RNSs from the 12.84% he held 26/1 (WJG website) he'd sold 1.2% 14/2, 0.88% 15/3, 1.71% 30/4 so he's been a drag here for some time.
I'd added some 4/6 at £2.04 on the weakness, I'm expecting a decent return now the overhang has cleared, looking cheap with fundamentals unchanged.

10m shares through at 208p - has to be Woodford desperately raising funds from anything that's liquid. A bargain for the buying institutions methinks.

Buying opportunity on Woodford possibly. Can't see any other reason for the drop. Very much doubt it will be close to this level come the next update.

Just bought back in at 202.5 and 203. Haven't held since Jul-17 when I exited at an average of 197.5p. Seems better value now than then.

Obviously the Woodford effect may see the share price going south in the short-term.

Ex-div on Thursday for 2.75p.
