Phew, I'm relieved I got out of these at 91p even though I kick myself for believing the DS £5 buy rec and not selling at £2! so easy with hindsight.

After such high hopes with Voip, they just never seem to be able to turn a profit.

Interesting - Vyke has either to tear up its JV agreement with Bonjour or the debt holders will pull the plug.

But I thought the few remaining "bulls" of Vyke claimed that the JV with Bonjour is precisely what offered the company hope/guaranteed it was about to sky rocket. So where does this leave them now?

Update on discussions with lenders
RNS Number : 0370C
Vyke Communications PLC
01 March 2011

1 March 2011

Vyke Communications plc

("Vyke" or the "Company")

Update on discussions with lenders

Vyke Communications plc (AIM: VYKE), the mobile Voice over Internet Protocol provider, announces that, following the announcement made on 7 January 2011, it has continued discussions with its unsecured bondholder and its unsecured lender in relation to repayments of £1.0 million originally due on 31 December 2010 (plus accrued interest) and £1.0 million originally due on 4 January 2011 (the "Payments"). Further details are contained in the announcement made on 2 December 2010.

The board of Vyke (the "Board") is pleased to announce that the bondholder and the lender have each agreed to a further conditional extension of the deadlines of the Payments from 28 February 2011 to 31 May 2011 (the "Extension") in order to conclude discussions which the Board believes should facilitate a long-term solution, to both the timing of the Payments and the repayment of Vyke's other creditors, and ensure Vyke should have a sustainable business model moving forward.

The Extension is conditional upon Vyke procuring the termination of the joint venture agreement entered into on 12 July 2010 with Bonjour Europe Limited, a wholly owned UK subsidiary of BLS TEL Holdings LLC (the "Joint Venture Agreement"). In the event that Vyke is unable to procure the termination of the Joint Venture Agreement then the Board will need to seek alternative sources of funds of which there can be no guarantee or take steps to protect the interests of creditors.

Further announcements in relation to the discussions above will be made at the appropriate time.

A NEW BATCH OF SUCKERS ARE BORN WITH EVERY NEW PLAY.

The Financial Markets are a Cruel, Unkind and Dangerous Playing Field, one place where the newest amateurs are generally fleeced the most brutally.... usually by those who KNOW the above rules. Just as I have a duty to ensure that each of you understand how this game is played, YOU now have that same duty to guarantee that your fellow speculator understands these rules. Just as I would be a criminal for not making this data known to you, YOU would be just as criminal to keep it a secret. There will always be an unsuspecting, trusting fool whom the rabid dogs will tear to shreds, but it does NOT have to be this way. IF every subscriber made this essay broadly known to his friends, acquaintances and family, and they passed it on to their friends, word of mouth could cause many of these market manipulators to pause. IF this effort were done strenuously by many, then perhaps the financial markets could weed out the crooked manipulators and the promoters could bring us more legitimate plays. The stock markets are a financing tool. The companies BORROW money from you, when you invest or speculate in their companies. They want their share price going higher so they can finance their deal with less dilution of their shares... if they are good guys. But, how would you feel about a friend or family member who kept borrowing money from you and never repaid it? That would be theft, plain and simple. So, a market manipulator is STEALING your money.

For those who care shawsmentalage37 was previously known as bordersboy but had to disappear for a while. He was also previously Chart Trader on iii but was kicked off after a series of obscene and threatening posts. He's now back there as misf1t (how apt that name is) but as here, I've put him on ignore as he's quite clearly mad - never said anything about any of the shares in question, just followed me around grinding his axe.

I must have run over his cat in another life or soemthing. Or maybe it was because I got him kicked off iii and bested him so badly he announced his "retirement".

But thanks to all for making this the top Vyke dscussion board on ADVFN. Top job.

Vyke has a business proposition which is both original and commercially viable. Unfortunately the part which is commercially viable is not original and the original part is not commercially viable.

Vyke likes to think it has "cutting edge technology solutions" for its customers. This would be true if all of its customers had travelled forward in time from 1976. Unfortunately they have not, which might explain why it has so few customers. Have you noticed that while Vyke used to trumpet its growing customer numbers - numbers which were highly questionable in my opinion – it now makes zero reference to a number which I suspect is itself approaching zero.

It may be a shame for Vyke but the 'technology' it boasts about had already been put into applications by other people several years ago, people who give it away for free. You want VOIP on your mobile? Download Skype – it works and it's free, whereas Vyke's 'solutions' – by its own admission - frequently haven't worked properly and yet they expect you to pay for them.

I know their response is that we're all the wrong demographic - Vyke's 'solutions' are aimed at poorer and more poorly educated Mongolians, Brazilians and Indians. This seems to me an error – first it assumes these people are stupid and will not have heard of Skype (and yet they have mobile phones?). Furthermore, it appears to suggest wealthier consumers will seek out free applications but less well off ones will be happy to pay. Nada. Which again may explain why we get no customer numbers – there are no new customers.

Of course the irony in the strategy is that the only group of people they have found who are so stupid and/or poorly educated that they have been willing to pay good money for something which is essentially worthless are their own shareholders – who amongst them is glad they took shares in the recent placing at 3.5p, let alone the madness of buying shares when they were 184p (yes, that's you Deltic)? And even hardly any of these poorly educated and not very bright individuals actually use any of Vyke's products – because they're as 'leading edge' as a kaftan or a kipper tie.

PS - you must be the only person who admits to wearing a kipper tie. I had to look up what it is. Now i realise why you have anger issues.

Good luck.

Let remain on this thread, it's much better, but the share price is dire.
