Yes, I agree. It appears to be what is right for management and "building the empire". VT Group have been caught with "their pants down" - best bet for shareholder value is getting the best price possible and open up the books imo. VT are a good company and have done well, but £7 or so now would be a reasonably strong proposition at this stage.

These were trading near £4 last july and they have been offered £7

Not an offer to hastily reject, imho

That rejection statement was clearly not written by the VT Group board

Looks like Merrill Lynch waffle to me


They should not be too hasty/greedy to reject a revised offer in this environment
