Posted at 24/4/2024 13:33 by pcok Same argument as for Tesla. Selling more even with reduced margin helps to maintain profit levels. Historically VLX has been very good at negotiating deals to protect the margin by for example passing on fluctuations in copper pricing. |
Posted at 19/4/2024 14:51 by igoe104 I can only see more and more growth coming VLX way, especially when I read articles like this.. Lots of cables needed for all this datacenter growth.. |
Posted at 18/4/2024 08:49 by z1co The 5 five analysts covering VLX have a revenue forecast in the range of $849.8 million to $873.0 so there will be massive upgrades to come. |
Posted at 18/4/2024 08:12 by rimau1 Well done Igoe, good call. I had a long term half position pre update and was happy to pay 3.11 to double up on the bell since VLX is now IMO completely derisked. We should be trading on 15x minimum to get comparable with peers at 15-20x so 4.50 target for me. The Turkish acquisition seems to be flying and receives a great deal of attention in the TU. Nat must be pleased. |
Posted at 10/4/2024 16:40 by dougmachin Downing's cash has gone from 34% to 44%, so they've been selling to generate cash for the special and further dividend, about 17.7 million."However, given today's result and the fact that our preferred proposal has been blocked by a new Shareholder with an agenda of its own, we believe that the correct thing to do is to press ahead with a dividend to Shareholders which, while not our preferred route, has the merit of fulfilling the mandate we were given to wind-down the trust and return cash proceeds forthwith." So, maybe the selling is now paused... to see what Milkwood are going to do. That could be good...? |
Posted at 10/4/2024 09:38 by dougmachin XPP's up 7% today.I think it's worth comparing VLX's chart against TSLA's chart. VLX seems to be following that far too closely over the past 2-3 years. It seems VLX's share price needs to get its own life and break away from pegging TSLA's. Anybody got any idea when Downing are done? Uncertainty is the last thing any share price needs. We need a good TU pronto to get the share price back on track. Frustrating we are down here, after the share price tried so many times to break out above 320p. |
Posted at 06/3/2024 09:02 by disc0dave46 You've posted elsewhere:"Been intouch with the VLX management. Alot of folks panicking over destocking issues that some companies have announced like XPP, have recently experienced, and now folks are panicking that it could happen to VLX. Instead of panicking all they have to do is get intouch with the company and will confirm in a carefully worded email they aren't any issues".Can you post up their actual response, thanks. |
Posted at 01/3/2024 19:23 by gargoyle2 According to today's RNS from DSM, as at 29 Feb, they had total assets of £30.44m, of which 8.35% was VLX (i.e. £2.5m worth - or just under 900k shares), so only a small holding left. As at 31 January, they had just under £3m worth of VLX, although the share price then was 317-ish, so around 940k shares. If my reading is correct, then they may not have been that much of a seller during February - 50k shares or so? |
Posted at 21/2/2024 16:31 by igoe104 VLX did mention a short-term issue in destocking in EV their half year results. So hopefully thats blown over now anyway.Taken from half year results.... Electric Vehicles - strong comparative period benefitted from customer inventory build, whereas increased confidence in lead times resulted in some short-term customer destocking during the period Unfortunately we are in a nervious market, the site of others selling, will panic others.. But with their being a big boom in data centers now and for the next several years, VLX cables will be in big demand.. |
Posted at 22/11/2023 12:59 by greyingsurfer I've just had a dividend notification from DividendMax claiming VLX is going ex tomorrow for the interim dividend, but giving no declaration date. I can't find any RNS that mentions it, or on the VLX website. And the amount looks wrong for the interim div, same div as the final. Anyone else seen it, or got any info?I suspect it may be a mistake. Though they did go ex of the interim div around this time last year. |
