There was a blogger on Stockopedia a couple of weeks ago that sold out (not Pail Scott). The fall seemed to start around then so might have been a domino effect with right stops etc.

I think ramp or deramp on a stock like this is very hard. There are lots of reasons share prices move that aren't 'manipulation'. I follow the retail boards and haven't seen any kind of negative positing on Volex at all, quite the opposite. If I had to make a guess I'd say it's caused by the new shares that have just been issued as the second tranche payment to owners of companies acquired by Volex (which are performing well). These types of shareholders have little incentive to hold on and are probably cashing in. If it goes any lower I will probably add a bit to my position as the business fundamentals look pretty attractive still.

Triggered my spreadbet stop ,will get back in if it falls further. On Bloomberg a few weeks ago they stated that the funds etc employ guys to ramp/deramp on the website financial boards under different names,so it is happening unfortunately

Agree with your conclusion. It is irrelevant whether this is due to global warming or simply a freak weather event...the political conclusion will drive the change and VLX should benefit further.

The dreadful flooding in Belgium , the Netherlands and , most importantly for us as in investors in Volex , in Germany will surely accelerate the push for electric vehicles . There is a small map on page 10 of the areas affected by the floods , which have resulted in “ at least fifty dead with dozens missing “ . The map shows Western France , Switzerland , northern Italy , the south of Belgium and the Netherlands , and all of Germany , with the epicentre of the floods being the industrial heartland of Germany . Germany will soon have a General Election “ … in which the Greens are predicted to make record gains and could form at least part of the post-Merkel government “ ( Telegraph ) . Under Merkel , Germany refused to have any nuclear power plants after Fukushima and has continued , I believe , to use a lot of coal for electricity generation . I’m certain that these appalling floods will provoke a backlash against Merkel’s CDU / CSU and a substantial increase in votes for the Greens in Germany’s forthcoming elections . Heartbreaking for Germany and neighbouring countries , but we as investors aren’t here to emote but to make investment decisions . This will force the big German vehicle manufacturers to accelerate the push towards electric vehicles . Good luck all

There’s a very interesting post today on the ADVFN chat site for Tremor PLC . It’s by someone called Dogsteeth , and he / she posted it at 19.07 . Ignore the first few words about someone called “ Sikhthetech “ , who had been “ annoying “ readers of the Tremor ADVFN chat site for some time . The bulk of the post is a quote from someone who was employed as a professional ramper and who , having been dismissed from his / her repulsive job , is getting revenge by explaining how they manipulate private investors .

Is it possible the stage payment was made in stock, and hence the big block trade this week of about £3mln that dipped the share price?

Electric cars will soon cost the same to run and buy as vehicles with petrol or diesel engines even without government subsidies, the owner of Vauxhall has claimed. The prediction from Stellantis, which also owns Peugeot, Citroen and Fiat, came as it outlined a €30bn (£26bn) plan for electrify its vehicle range. The plan includes developing cars able to drive 500 miles on a single charge and building five “gigafactories” in Europe and the US by 2030. It also wants to speed up charging times to hasten drivers' switch to electric cars, predicting charging rates of 20 miles of range per minute. Better battery technology is set to make this goal a reality. Stellantis plans to offer two battery chemistries by 2024 - a high energy-density option and a nickel cobalt-free alternative. It aims to introduce the first “competitive” solid state battery technology two years after that. Sales of its electric vehicles are forecast to rise from 14pc in Europe and 4pc in the US to more than 70pc and 40pc respectively by 2030.

Obviously not a FTSE stock, but it's following the index move today, the selling has been on low volume too. Top up time.

There was no reason for the dips in March or May either, and they went lower than this, so, tempting as it is, I'm holding off for now.

I just reread the June results, and can see no reason for this dip. Just couldn't resist a few more, so added @ 344.8p
