Posted at 18/4/2024 20:53 by z1co Prior to today's trading update analysts were expecting it to generate earnings per share of 36.5 cents for the year ending 31 March 2025. At today’s share price and exchange rate, that equates to a forward-looking P/E ratio of just 10.5.That forward P/E will be even less after the expected upgrades. |
Posted at 18/4/2024 09:02 by z1co Never the less consensus underlying operating profit of $84.2m will also be slightly ahead of expectations. The market likes company's that beat profits in the current environment. Share price will rise strongly after the slight pull back at the opening. Brokers upgrades will also help in the uplift. |
Posted at 15/4/2024 17:14 by daveme You can bet your bottom dollar that if there is a slowdown in EV cables then the share price will get hit even though it has already dropped from 320p+ to the current 270p in the last few weeks potentially due to that very belief. |
Posted at 15/4/2024 11:00 by ijamlon Results this week. Share price implied expectations look extremely low, all centred around EV. Beats have been the norm. |
Posted at 10/4/2024 09:38 by dougmachin XPP's up 7% today.I think it's worth comparing VLX's chart against TSLA's chart. VLX seems to be following that far too closely over the past 2-3 years. It seems VLX's share price needs to get its own life and break away from pegging TSLA's. Anybody got any idea when Downing are done? Uncertainty is the last thing any share price needs. We need a good TU pronto to get the share price back on track. Frustrating we are down here, after the share price tried so many times to break out above 320p. |
Posted at 06/3/2024 10:38 by disc0dave46 IgoeWhy are you reluctant to post up their response?, you are simply repeating what they said at the interims in November. Which is clearly all they said in their response to you.As shaker has posted, they aren't going to give out anything sensitive or why the share price has been weak. |
Posted at 06/3/2024 08:31 by disc0dave46 IgoeSo they commented that the share price action has nothing to do with customer destocking and business performance!. Is that the gist of their response to you?. |
Posted at 01/3/2024 19:23 by gargoyle2 According to today's RNS from DSM, as at 29 Feb, they had total assets of £30.44m, of which 8.35% was VLX (i.e. £2.5m worth - or just under 900k shares), so only a small holding left. As at 31 January, they had just under £3m worth of VLX, although the share price then was 317-ish, so around 940k shares. If my reading is correct, then they may not have been that much of a seller during February - 50k shares or so? |
Posted at 10/8/2023 09:32 by dougmachin ali - VLX share price went up on no news... and when there was some good news, it did nothing (went down a bit).Sooooooo, it seems some people knew the good news beforehand and bought. Then, when the good news was actually released (yesterday), the folk who knew already, sold and made some quick money. That's the reasoning... For me, I'm just pleased my biggest holding is totally on the right track. |
Posted at 25/4/2023 17:03 by valhamos How quickly after a strong trading update do we revert to discussing share price movements! The trading update gave a good steer as to how the near term future for Volex is shaping up - the company is targeting markets with strong structural growth, the growth that the company is seeing is ahead of the underlying market (the company is gaining market share) and VLX is expanding its capabilities and widening its product offering thereby increasing wallet share with existing customers as well as attracting new ones. My investment philosophy has been to concentrate on the business not the share price. Get the business right then the share price will sort itself out. |
