Vodafone Takeover Rumours (VOD)

It's probably a big sign that there isn't gonna be a Takeover. If the FD bought a load just before a takeover he'd be hauled up! lol

Maybe he bought share as he knows something like a takeover is coming up. Also, I thought they were to announce capital issues like buybacks and dividend in May. They did it quite earlier. Maybe cleaning up for a take over.

If I was being mischievous I'd say the takeover rumours were planted by the CEO and her cronies to try and shore up the SP...the super high volumes don't quite fit though...WTF is she doing with Italy? Three merger was always going to attract close attention, ao why waste so much time and money? I maintain there are overseas hedge funds manipulating the SP here, as Tiger Global did with Tesco in 2015, remained hidden for a while before being outed.

II showing VOD as one of the ten most traded shares today, with overall buys as 83% of all trades. Clearly complete bollocks with the shares basically falling all day and the stock down 4% on an up day on the markets. It must be time for another superfluous and nonsensical rumour of a takeover to get a rebound. Either that or sack the arse at the top pretending to run the company. ;-)

As per UK takeover laws the board must disclose any offer or bid, no matter how hostile or opportunistic. Too many of these bastards keep them hidden, keeping the SP in the gutter. Look at Directline - board kept it hidden for a whole month! The board should face serious consequences IMO for this. Scandalous and should not be allowed. Is it not price sensitive information? Of course it is so WTF are they doing not disclosing an offer or approach?

Takeover could be in a form of 2 consortium parties...hotch potch of a business and stakes all over the world...

If, and yes it's a big if, a takeover for Vodafone did come in for it to be accepted 150p would need to be offered, given the NAV is closer to 200p and Kantar consistently name Vodafone as Britain's biggest brand. 100% premium shows how ridiculously undervalued UK stocks are. There is something going on, that's why I've been checking the trades today and yesterday. If someone wanted to spread takeover rumours, you would pick another well-known company with fewer shares, which would push up the price. Vodafone has 27 billion shares. You would have a job push up the price by much. IMHO. Could be wrong, but I think there is something building

The VOD share price behaves more like some shitty little AIM stock where it's pushed in any direction depending on whether the MMs have stock to buy or sell, rather than a company with a market cap of £18.5bn. And takeover talk is ludicrous. Stellar Fail has done a blinding job, announcing redundancies (a shame they didn't include her own) and selling off profitable businesses, whilst overseeing a 29% fall in SP, and down £800K on her £6.25m performance share award. Current yield is 11.28% but cover is 0.98, so unsustainable. She must be in line for an OBE...

How rogue and rigged are markets now? That takeover rumour was complete BS. Insiders knew of the Italy news days in advance. WTF? & no doubt there is a hedge fund shorting this, not showing on the FCA short tracker though.

I remember this 'Betaville' doing a takeover rumours story with RS Group and Watches of Switzerland. The shareprices popped and fell back again. Nothing will happen with VOD.

OK so with late trades volume is 3x the typical average but ADR price is already slumping. Why go after Three if a takeover is incoming? Could be hostile but more likely the crap CEO trying desperately to shore up the SP. What happened to Italy? Why turn down Iliad twice? Why go so hard after Three given all the concerns? Poor.

More Takeover Rumours - European Telco apparently.

This company has to be a running joke, an endless disaster guided by an incompetent CEO who should frankly be sacked, where is the bottom for the sp, even the dividend doesn't come any way near covering capital losses on the fall in sp which is just heading one way with no word from the board or the CEO on how they are going to address this in a coherent manner. The market cap is so low that it must be being eyed up by third parties as a cheap take-over or buy and break up, the parts probably outweigh the value of the whole. I think our only chance of making our money back on this dog of a company is for a takeover or break up - the current CEO is not up to the job, way out of her depth. A very disgruntled shareholder with four tranches of shares bought over the years by way of averaging down, each of which drifts further under water whilst the CEO looks on frozen by the magnitude of the task she's not up to.

Voda with debt problem and bt with takeover target. Both is possible

Seriously undervalued in my opinion.I think there will be a takeover soon as the present management haven't a clue.
