*sane Workers is pretty obvious why! What sane worker would vote Tory? Business owner... well for their business its probably 50/50 but maybe they have a Son with cerebal palsy or a cousin who was born blind or they personally have been diagnosed with cancer and if they want any of these things to be treated and these people to be cared for and have a quality of life, then they will vote Labour. Investor... well, depends what you invest in. Landlord... who cares, sod them, they are parasites. Sooner all BTL is sold off causing a housing market crash allowing all the people currently renting to buy them off them, the better. Why anyone would vote Tory, for another 9 years of ruining the country, a manifesto that promises to undo most of it and almost get back in a state before they took over... that is insane!

New Delhi: Vodafone Idea shares rose over 8 per cent on Wednesday amid reports that the company is planning to sell some of its assets to raise over USD 2.5 billion (around Rs 17,500 crore). On the BSE, the scrip after opening on a positive note further rose to Rs 7.08 apiece, up 7.9 per cent. On the NSE, the scrip jumped 8.39 per cent to Rs 7.10 apiece. According to reports, Vodafone Idea may raise over USD 2.5 billion from asset sales ahead of a January deadline to pay statutory dues. The company is said to be in talks to sell its optic fibre business to Brookfield Asset Management Inc and its datacentre to the Edelweiss Group. Vodafone Idea, reeling under massive debt of around Rs 1.17 lakh crore, had earlier cited acute financial stress on the company behind the decision to raise mobile call and data charges. The company has an estimated liability of Rs 44,150 crore post the apex court order, and has made provisioning of Rs 25,680 crore in the second quarter this fiscal.

Perhaps India feels that it was raped by the British Empire and now wants revenge. That is certainly the sentiment expressed by some Indians that I have spoken to.

Mumbai: Vodafone Idea (VIL) on Monday closed 6 per cent lower on the BSE as investors reacted to the company's Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla's statement that VIL will shut its business in the absence of a relief with regards to the adjusted gross revenue-based dues. Earlier in the day, VIL fell as much as 12 per cent. What further troubled the Vodafone Idea investors was Birla's comment that there will be no further capital infusion into the venture by either the Aditya Birla Group or Vodafone. Bharti Airtel, which stands to gain the most if its competitor VIL goes belly up, was trading nearly 2 per cent higher at Rs 446.65 apiece. Speaking at an event earlier, Birla had said that the issue of AGR is needed to be resolved urgently. "We will shut shop if we don't get relief, it could be the end of the story for us. There is no company in the world that could get that kind of money in three months," he said. The Supreme Court in a recent verdict allowed the Centre to recover Rs 92,641 crore in total AGR from telcos, which impacts Airtel and Vodafone Idea the most.
