Funny you should mention Centrica was thinking how this is behaving a bit like that did a while back. I think it is more likely to stabilise than shoot back up thats what tends after long falls like this in my experience.

Hi EJ, Agreed, but whilst the reported yield will fall as the share price rises anyone buying now will lock-in the yield at the price paid for the shares and gain the gain in share value. Regards Maddox

Brokers had buy recommendations at much higher prices...somehow their clients have access to unlimited funds!...hence they keep spouting out buy recommendations on the way down...

diku The shorts on the Vod adrs near their high, good luck to them with the buybacks and dividend, they pay back if holding at ex div, Good battle going to take place. Hopefully bulls win this one.

Maddox, I have no problem whatever with broker forecasts, however, where it is a little peculiar is that these same brokers have been pretty bullish on VOD (and many other UK equities) for months. And it simply is not translating into a stem in the downward trend let alone a rising share price. My analysis is that the shares represent good value for money and I continue to add to my holding by averaging up. That the yield is currently in high single figures is incidental. SHOULD the share price rise, then the yield will fall. I do not believe that the dividend will be reduced as it is based on distribution of profits from free cash flow.

Any body selling now would be at a loss as this price has not been seen, can't see why you would, unless forced seller or tax loss reasons. The re pay divi for shorters will be very interesting.

Despite the negative sentiment created by a few recent analysts opinions the balance of Broker recommendations is overwhelmingly positive: Strong Buy........14 Buy................3 Neutral............4 Sell...............1 Strong Sell........3 So out of 25 - 17 or 68% are on the Buy-side. regards, Maddox Source: Share.com

It stands to reason your going to want this in a certain trading range for as long as you can you might get the odd jump but don’t expect mega moves that wouldn’t make sense would it!
