Yes I noticed they were very aggressive over the black Friday weekend heavily promoting more profitable packages too ,shame about the error should not happen with a company this big, enough people to sign it off.

Vodafone had some great offers on for black friday weekend but unfortunately there website was incorrectly offering a further 10% discount on various pay monthly plans for existing customers renewing . This caused a massive headache for sales staff who had to tell disgruntled customers continually that it was a system error and could not be honoured , massive own goal scored.

Shouldn't the divi be covered around 2x by earnings?...or is that old fashioned...and debt is king!...

The dividend is covered around 0.85x by earnings. Next year it should be 0.9x covered and the Liberty deal should help materially. So the board are obviously leaning on the B/S pro tem until EPS builds. Of course that can go wrong but cash flow is huge pro tem and so it's probably a gamble worth taking. The recent results bear that out. If earnings do rebuild rapidly the thing probably should trade on a 6% odd yield or an earnings yield of slightly more so maybe on that basis north of 220p. Sure if the world craters and mobile usage slows then it'll be materially lower given debt. But at the moment it looks ok.

Speaking of grammar, twice what it earned not what it's earning .

LOL, my point is, it's paying twice what it's earning, do the maths (if your arithmetic is better than your grammar.)

Must be nearer 9% atm but a 15.07p divi with an EPS of approx 8p leaves me cold.
