Don't worry Kent, if you are invested here you are fine. Speculation /gambling is 99% of the market, hence why this price is so low. The great thing speculation /gambling does is give investors great opportunities. This is a great investment but will only materialise over time. Another great opportunity for people to buy in today

Agree earnings will grow and very undervalued, but doubt banks will ever be on a PE of 20 again.

The underlying value in this company is not evident in the share price. For 2018 further growth is clearly anticipated. So net interest margins will be lower - will this effect the forward movement in P/E ?No It will reduce profits but not on a material level. Current EPS of 37.8p beat expectations. My understanding from Morningstar was that c. 33p was expected. Therefore P/E yesterday was slightly over 8 times (33p *£2.65 = 8.03 times). Today if we take this simple calculation on the new EPS figure 37.8p x 8.03 = £3.04 and we are only at £2.78. Sector medium is at 14.6 times P/E. Therefore 14.6 x 37.8p = £5.52 . The market really is a thick muppet. IPO at £2.83 with EPS at 23p in 2015 with the price range between £2.90 to £4.50. I think the 2015 EPS figure will double in 2018 to say 46p. What a bargin due to brexit and other macro economic factors. Lets say banks come back into favour in a few years could we be looking at the banking section in general with a P/E sector ratio of 20? Is so based on continued steady growth in 5 years we are looking at EPS of c. 75p x 20 = £15 (5.4 times the current price). Any comments negative/positive welcome ? ?

Very positive results, I would expect a slow steady climb over the coming weeks/ months. At current levels if held there is virtually no chance of losing money on this solid company. Over time this has the potential to be a FTSE 100 company. A strong digital drive and continued growth may make this company a key market player. I like the CEO & Chairwoman also, its nice to have trustworthy women guiding the ship!

Very positive. Good progress in everything bar the share price. Deserves to be comfortably over 300p.

Now these results look great to me, growing a high quality loan book with internally generated capital and very low levels of arrears, very decent profits, I am sure we see a big puke in the share price as it usually happens when I think the results look good

This share has garnered little attention however hopefully this will begin to garner more attention after tomorrow. This company could easily be priced at the 450 - 500 level . P/e of c. 8 with TNAV of .7. A very good buy for long term holders

ojh2kent,

Once the 100k came along, you'd probably get a profit warning !

rollercoaster here. Agree with @nothingtogain - never recovered but surely at 8 p/E its worth a punt. It needs to get past that £3 mark and hold but can't see it happening in a pre-brexit market. Ive taken another 10k here i n the hope we might recover a bit in the next month or so

This company is totally undervalued - it really has never recovered after brexit with very little interest from the share buying public. If you look at the various boards/chats, there is very little activity. TNAV less then 1, P/E of just over 8 which appears stable. A typically Ben Graham stock. This will over time will be very profitable.

For the best part of a year this has been a great trading share, buy in the £2.50's and sell in the £2.90's, you could have done this three times since June.

I sold out today, I like VM. and it looks cheap however it never seems to move above £3 with any conviction.

I'll look to buy in again at some point.

Cheers.

Does anyone know if any of the virgin group companies have had any kind of history with entertaining take over bids, from my limited research it doesn’t look like any of the virgin companies apart from Virgin America (where RB was couldn’t prevent a hostile take over due to him not being an US citizen apparently) a few years back, have been targeted by bigger players! With consolidation of banks on the agenda are investors wasting their time with VM expecting it to be the next challenger bank snapped up, so maybe OSB is the preferred investment?

Me neither - all seems good from the fundamentals so a mystery.
