Vietnamese market heavily down today, following the Dow. It's the Tet holiday season here and Vietnamese may well withdraw their money from the market as it's an expensive time! Don't be surprised to see further falls until the 15th.

Dow was down over 600 points on Friday. Sell off on quite a few stocks.Guessing it's something to do with this.

Enjoyed reading that, Andyj, thanks.

I can picture you now, strolling about the back streets of downtown Ho Chi Minh City in a cream-coloured suit and a Panama hat, making wry observations suitable for inclusion in your next novel.

You could of bin a writer, innit? :)

Nothing from Hargreaves, and they flagged up a different company for not having a kid?

No problem buying via the Share Centre. I topped up last week, and the KID is available.

TexasPete2. I use Smartinvestor (Barclays)and cannot buy VOF because the KID has not been made available. I telephoned Barclays who assure me that they are following up about 100 companies who have yet to provide KIDs. Poor show but not a lot that we can do . You could buy VEIL who have provided a KID.

Anyone trade this share using an HSBC account? I can't seem to buy anymore and there is a host of additional fund fees associated with buying it apparently (not that I can buy to pay the fees!). Would like to top up.

Another write up in Money Week this week about VOF.

This time Andy Ho talks about Vietnam and three of our holdings in Phu Nhuan Jewelry, Hoa Phat Group and Vietjet Air which has 43% of the market share.

Some news from out here...The air quality is deteriorating rapidly and has stayed above 300 for several days. This has happened before, but it hasn't been as sustained as this and appears a by product of the mass of construction projects (in the dry season). Unless the current trajectory reverses it will become more public knowledge and then there are risks that ex pats will be reluctant to come here and invest, or that limits will be put on construction, or that companies will look to Myanmar or Cambodia. It's not a reason to sell, Vietnam is an exceptional investment opportunity, but I'm just putting it out there and will update as necessary.

Quite a lot of that nav is cash, and that's going to be used to stag these upcoming IPOs... Should be easy money, and a lot easier than doing it yourself!
