10/2/2023 12:05 | Victrex plc issued an AGM and Q1 management statement this morning. Q1 Group revenue was £78.8m up 6% on Q1 2022: £74.6m. Average selling prices (ASP) were ahead of expectations, with good momentum from price increases and surcharge pricing. This helped to drive revenue up 6%, despite an 8% decline in Q1 sales volume of 948 tonnes. Following shareholder engagement share buybacks have now been included alongside special dividends for excess cash return options. Guidance for FY23 remains unchanged, i.e. another year of solid growth is expected. The business is profitable and the balance sheet also remains strong. However, valuation is a little unhelpful with forward PE ratio at 18.5x. Share price also lacks medium term momentum.
