The DI40 announcement looks to have escaped everybody's notice. Released at 6.28 yesterday evening, the company announced they intend to buy-in shares that become available in the market at a 20% discount.

Do the sums.

Moving into buying territory again, after being marked down strangely today on this:

"We are pleased to report that, despite continued global economic challenges, Group sales volume for the first half of 1,392 tonnes was ahead of the same period for last year (1,377 tonnes). As expected, this reflects a stronger performance from our Victrex Polymer Solutions business ('VPS') in the second quarter with Group sales volume of 752 tonnes compared to the first quarter of 640 tonnes."

For those in Albion VCT's they will know that Albion has invested in a JV with Aim listed TEG in a ad plant in Perth to produce electricity
Good there for Albion shareholders to read in TEG's prelims the following
Perth AD Facility - ("TEG Biogas Perth")

The Company's move into the renewable energy sector is proceeding very well. Commissioning of the Perth AD facility was highly successful and the plant is in full operation with power output currently ahead of design capacity. The plant will process 15,000 tonnes per annum of food waste and generate approximately 0.7MW of electricity and 0.2 MW of heat, to be utilised on site in the Binn Eco Park development. Ofgem has accredited the facility to receive Renewable Obligation Certificates ("ROCs") and as an AD facility it will be eligible for double ROCs (i.e. 2 ROCs for each unit of electrical output). The project is funded by Albion Ventures LLP ("Albion") and Zero Waste Scotland. The Group retains a 50% shareholding in the Company.

I picked up a few Downing Income 4 VCT yesterday on a 36% discount. Smaller companies seem to be having a better time of late, and these have just continued to drift.

News from Ortus that they have agreed terms in principle has soothed a few nerves.

The lack of interest in this company goes to show how good it is.
Slight disappointment in the IMS today maybe but should not cause a 6% drop and could be a buying chance.

"We are pleased to announce that, despite the continuing global economic challenges, both of our business units are showing resilience in trading so far this year.

Group sales volume for the four months to January is 2% ahead of the same period last year and Invibio revenues for the same period are broadly in line with the prior year.

Whilst early in the financial year, we remain confident of the potential for growth in both business units as the year progresses."

Thanks IanBrewster thats very interesting, so could one simply buy in the market and sell to the management for a profit? I feel sure there must be conditions attached but could add a margin of protection for the medium to long term holder.

As there is so little liquidity in most VCTs, they will make arrangements to buy in the market to match sellers. As a seller, you contact them with the number of shares you want to sell and they will put in a corresponding buy order. price is normally based on some fixed discount to NAV.
