02/3/2022 14:19 | That's a good positive. I would take a position if it falls below 60 | alotto
02/3/2022 13:10 | But if you do a generic search on any bathroom kit VIC will come up first and if you include B&Q it comes up second (so you can check the price). | mr5k
02/3/2022 12:21 | If I wanted to check bathrooms on the B&Q website I wouldn't do a generic search on google. I would go straight on their website, they are well known and don't need publicity or to be on top of google search. that's the brand power which gives a significant advantage online too | alotto
02/3/2022 09:00 | alotto, online is not as cheap as it used to be with Google now charging ever more. In essence Google has become the global landlord, which means that that offline pay two sets of rents (i.e to the landlord for the shop/warehouse and Google). It was not always thus as large brands could rely on coming top of searches on the basis organic search (i.e the businesses that were most searched for). Now if you want to be top, you have to pay. The people not paying (even with though they are top via organic) do not even appear on the first page. So, players like B&Q will have to accept lower margins or demand better. the reality is that the online players are hungrier and much focussed than the offline because this is their only channel. this not surprising given the relatively complexity of a company like B&Q. | mr5k
26/2/2022 21:15 | Some physical stores need to push the online retailing or they will die or will downsize considerably. Many online retailers have had a easy life but historical physical stores are catching up. That's what I fear for stores like ASOS or blBooboo, for how well they performed so far they may head to times with tougher competition. | alotto
26/2/2022 20:46 | "if they make a big push online", are the operative words. it's always surprised me - with the exception of Next - how few retailers really come back at the online businesses. i think it's not in their dna and this seems to be true across numerous industries. moreover, wickes and b&q would have to spend lots of money on a single category, which would unlikely be worthwhile. if VIC make it successfully into the trade market, they could go after other diy/building categories. i don't know what the margins are like but tiling and flooring look like interesting areas to expand into. | mr5k
25/2/2022 09:37 | B&Q predominantly stores based, but if they make a big push online that could be a threat (same with Wickes). Trying a number of online bathroom related searches, VIC consistently come up first, which is a good sign. | riverman77
25/2/2022 08:50 | This is the results presentation. There's a slide at the back with all the info. hxxps://www.victoria | mr5k
24/2/2022 18:36 | Great thanks for the info! Do you know if there are any other big competitors in this space to be aware of? | riverman77
24/2/2022 16:34 | What's the history with Victorian Plumbing and Victoria Plum - I assumed they were the same company. Was there some sort of corporate split or just coincidence that there are 2 companies with virtually identical names. Perhaps someone here could give a bit of background? | riverman77
24/2/2022 16:11 | WHat do you mean by "it's terminal for Victoria Plum"? | alotto
24/2/2022 15:48 | And need to get the right labour as well...too many in the building trade doing rush jobs... | diku
24/2/2022 10:22 | If it's painful for VIC, it's terminal for Victoria Plum and that's around 6% of the market that will be looking for a new home. One of the main constraints of growth at the moment is lack of builders/plumbers to do building works. A friend in the NE told me that there's 6-12 month waiting for people wanting to do major renovations due to lack of labour. | mr5k
24/2/2022 10:16 | a good day to buy. we are much nearer the bottom today. | mr5k
24/2/2022 09:14 | This is gonna go south much further | alotto
24/2/2022 08:43 | A mild profit warning. | mr5k
23/2/2022 10:16 | What do you suspect Charo? Why an investigation? I imagine investors are being cautious for now that's all | alotto
23/2/2022 09:37 | Should be an investigation. But of course there won't be. | charo
22/2/2022 18:50 | This one has never stopped to go a long way down It's baffling how some can buy with such a short history of public listing and no sign of reversal. I can see this going south much further. It can now be a time to get out and back in at a better time. I wouldn't touch above 60p unless a clear steady reversal occurs to go above the 110-120 mark | alotto
22/2/2022 13:52 | If there is no reasons to be fearful... | alotto
15/2/2022 10:30 | Buy when others are fearful. | mr5k
15/2/2022 09:37 | There should be a trading update on 24th February. | look alive
14/2/2022 21:14 | Not much further hopefully | pottsypotts |
