23 days ago, that's 17 working days for those of you who are retired, the company announced that the UK government had given the company a £5m loan to gear up production. The cash will not be given until the security is in place - loan security docs are not completed overnight - I know, especially as they will in all likeliness have to enter into a DoP with Santander, who will take ages to agree the wording. The company FD, a prudent chap I am told, will not order the new machinery until the cash is in hand. No large contract for the supply of Graphene will be signed until the buyer is certain of continuity of product - that will happen once the loan docs are finalised and the machinery is on order. NR has told me on several occasions that the business had sufficient capacity at 3T to cover the current requirements. If new machinery is to be ordered, the 3T will no longer be sufficient capacity - but with our prudent FD he would not sign off the spend unless he knew it was needed. In my opinion Q3 is looking to be a potential game changer for VRS but time will tell. Clearly though all this is time reliant on the loan paperwork/ security being signed off. Soon hopefully.

and the AIRTEC Lightweight Aircraft Seats project also has funding from UKRI:

Lightweight Aircraft Seats (Airbus / Williams Advanced Engineering)
hxxps://www.themanufacturer.com/articles/aerospace-and-formula-one-team-up-to-create-innovative-new-aircraft-seating/

I am doubtful that there is any VRS involvement with this particular Airbus project, but does anybody have any further details on the 223 technique and the "2D composite preform". I was guessing that initial GSCALE acronym of 'Graphene Seat' might relate to such lightweight aircraft seats (and other cabin interior composites).

"...the consortium alternative will comprise RACETRAK, a method of integrating unidirectional fibres, and 223, a technique for creating 3D structures from a 2D composite preform. [Both RACETRAK and 223 are intellectual property from WAE]"

"Does he answer direct emails?"

Slowly. He is on record as saying that he is wading through 143,000 of them in his inbox.

Big Hero SixA kids film with themes of futurism, graphene and engineering. Thoroughly recommend watching. I'm a little under 30 and enjoyed it very much!As for VRS... well, perhaps spinning too many plates... the business model not yet proven and colabs pending fruition. Management seem a bit wet behind the ears, but then Graphene is a new frontier. Very risky stock. I hold - bought 108p An engineer doesn't necessarily make a good CEO, but I do believe NR is doing his best. Boom or bust? The jury is still out.

Excellent as your post is Fireball I think a straw poll here will quickly indicate that very few, if any, invested in "stoicism". Over 300 RNSes is a lot of stoicism when not matched by sales.

There has been a move to professionalism. The company has certified products, is working with world renowned institutions, is at the forefront of this materials revolution. It is networking and has formed alliances, partnerships and ambitious collaborations with named and unnamed parties. The company is in collaborative agreements have stature and are household names. Those recruited in the past couple of months are testament to the positive direction this company is taking. The lack of constant chatter from the company should be viewed as a mark of their dilligence and will to maintain the respected silence of an Apple or any other large corporation at the leading edge. The only thing that has changed is patience, the trigger happy are twitching or encouraging that move, at a time when a stoic approach should be maintained.

Like many on here, I have my finger over the sell button, but can't quite go through with it as it will crystallise a hefty 6 figure loss. FOMO is keeping me on board for now. With all the collaborations and MOU's out there, what really disappoints me is the lack of information and progress on any of them. More worrying still is the lack of any information from the BoD as to what is happening in China.
The opportunity cost of holding here has been huge for me. I just hope that some positive information will be forthcoming soon, otherwise that sell button will be hit.
Come on NR-throw us a bone.

I couldn't agree with you more sir an excellent description of many here's thoughts and predicaments. There is a great unease for me of which I've had for weeks regarding management and strategy mainly my worries of lack of professionalism to make the huge step up and secure orders and unfortunately the share price bears that out at the moment.

I am beginning to suspect that those who professed so loudly at being "givers" may have actually been surreptitious "takers".

Because of my age I am a trusting sort and have the highest regard for our judicial system including the constabulary. As such I take their utterances at face value and sacrosanct pronouncements. I also belong to that generation who are proud to be patriots and will therefore support fine British companies at the cutting edge of science.

But of late I have begun to develop a sense of unease. This has been caused by a number of factors. Firstly, the sudden disappearance of the cheerleaders who were once so vocal in support of the company and who rightly suppressed all dissent. In their absence the naysayers have appeared with all sorts of uncomfortable questions and analysis. Then there are others who profess to be admirers of our dear NR, speak effusively about his integrity and innate goodness, who despite having met the great man become turncoats and dump their shares - whilst still being "believers".

I am therefore in a quandary and befuddled as to what is going on, and crucially as to what I should do. I promised her indoors to invest our pension pot into this paradigm shifting company that was going to presage the dawn of a new industrial revolution. Our dream of a bungalow in Skegness seems destined to be just that. She has been asking some rather uncomfortable questions as she peruses the property listings.

I have been telling her to have patience but that is wearing thin as we have more years behind us than in front of us. Have I been sold a pup? Any words of comfort will help.

And there I was thinking my investment would help the poor tortured children.

He's also said "these things take time ", of course. He's human and started off with brio.Has he planted sufficient seed?Mark to market I've been made poor.If I didn't suspect simple one liners I'd say this is being walked down. I think the results will be indifferent to poor.Unlike TRK Meldex etc I think this will recover. But I now realise , guess what, it will take time. From tikkety-boo to rickety-boo.

Some seem to act as though there were no pandemic affecting business, no trade war between USA and China, no tensions between UK and China over Hong Kong, no recent good news re funding, no significance to 31/7, no significance to 11/8, no new chairman who has only been in the job for just for around a month. We all look forward to success via commercial deals and a much higher share price but to keep on expecting updates is unrealistic. We have had plenty of news to understand what’s going on and we will hear a lot more in the next month.

Kemche, there have been many "men of integrity" who have also failed to deliver on their promises. Things are often outside their control or they make honest mistakes. That is what has happened here.

The point is for those who are "happy" with their investment that yes, there may be a lot of jam in the future but over the last two years you have seen your capital trashed whereas had you even stuck it in Amazon you would have been far better off by now. That in my eyes is a BAD investment and cannot be otherwise described.Too many on here (including myself) have believed that they had some kind of real connection with VRS when in fact they just held some shares in the company which derived NO benefit from their participation as soon as the share price started to fall.

Like many posters on here l like many have watched my value shrink but l can tell you l am still very happy with my investment And expect a great future for graphene and especially Versarien they are aiming for the high end usage customer not the piddling little contracts, yes there is disappointment but when your at the mercy of the big conglomerates and there time lines and there code of silence as Neill has said you just have to grin and bear it.With results out next month and agm in September I'm sure we will be rewarded very soon, so sorry to hear some are selling at a great loss but now is not the time to sell, good luck all.

An update on the numerous collaborations would be nice! Not sure how NR can continue with the narrative of 'no collaboration has failed' for much longer as some have been going on for three or more years now with no notable progress and certainly not bringing in any cash!

kemche - I suppose it is easy to mock.

I've been open and honest here. I was expecting great things from China when I wrote that. I may have been taken for a fool but I've always given people the benefit of the doubt and I still believe Neill expected a big deal to land in China. I know you will mock me for saying this but I've met him and he comes across very genuine.

I'm still prepared to back Neill if he can explain what is going on in China. Perhaps it is all down to worsening trade tensions. Without any sort of update how do we know what is going on?
