Talk is all well and good delivery is what matters.

Quote from the CEO to me very recently.

I could put out news every week if I look at what others are doing but what is the point.

He has quite clearly said they are talking to a large number of big companies with fantastic opportunities ahead.

At events he says they are more or less getting calls from new large companies every week.

While news may comfort some that seek it such chat does not produce revenue deals do.

For those that attend the AGM much of the mystery will be unravelled.

Typical of VRS they have put the AGM at a location more sutiable to the shareholder list and of course it's cheaper.

Good to see an agm not being held in London.
Hope there is plenty of time for questions, I think shareholders may have one or two!

The Haydale announcement today brings into sharp focus the complete lack of news flow from VRS during 2017.

Here is a reprise of the VRS newsflow in 2016 by comparison to underline my point:

11 March 2016

Will Battrick Chief Technology Director resigns. "No reason given and was he ever replaced?"

31 March 2016
Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced engineering materials group is pleased to announce that is working with with 3D printing specialists E3D Online Ltd in initial trials for incorporating graphene into its 3D printing process.

The aim of the trial is to test whether the exceptional properties of the graphene developed by 2D-Tech can be incorporated into 3D printed parts.

Sanjay Mortimer, Director of Research and Development at E3D Online Ltd commented: "E3D is constantly seeking to push boundaries in what is possible to achieve with 3D printing. Working with Versarien to incorporate graphene into 3D printed parts is extremely exciting and we look forward to creating enhanced materials with advanced properties that would not be possible without this collaboration."

6 April 2016
The Company is particularly pleased with the high levels of enquiries being received for its low profile thermal copper heat dissipation solutions from multinational blue chip companies looking to incorporate Versarien's technology in high volume applications.

New graphene applications continue to be developed through a number of collaborations, particularly in the areas of composites and batteries. Versarien's ability to supply high quality graphene in commercial quantities following the breakthrough in the scalable manufacture of graphene platelets, announced last year, is driving considerable interest in incorporating graphene into a wide variety of real world applications.

13 October 2016

Versarien has been collaborating with the NGI since November 2014. Extensive trials of the graphene produced by Versarien's subsidiary, 2-DTech, by an NGI team led by Professor Robert Young, Professor of Polymer Science and Technology at The University of Manchester, in carbon fibre composite products, has demonstrated the benefit of adding graphene, particularly with regard to significantly enhancing the strength of the structure.

Following the positive test results from the project the NGI have indicated that they wish to purchase a significant quantity of graphene from Versarien for a specific project with a major OEM.

27 October 2016

Versarien plc (AIM:VRS) ("Versarien" or the "Company"), the advanced materials group, is pleased to announce the participation of the Company's subsidiary, 2-DTech Ltd, in a new project funded by the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council).

The project "2D Materials for Next Generation Healthcare Technologies" (2D-Health) aims to further explore how graphene can improve major health challenges, such as cancer, diabetes and dementia, utilising GBP5.2m of funding from the EPSRC over the next 5 years. Partners in the project, in addition to 2-DTech, include four major healthcare multinationals and laboratories from across the University of Manchester, spanning physics, chemistry, pharmacy and medicine research.

29 November 2016

On 13 October 2016, the Company announced that following the positive test results from the composite project with the National Graphene Institute ("NGI") that the NGI was purchasing a significant quantity from Versarien for a specific project with a major OEM.

Versarien has now received an order with a value of over GBP100,000 for graphene in the form of Few Layer Graphene Nano Platelets ("GNPs") from a European commercial customer, in conjunction with the NGI. This high quality graphene will be certified by the NGI and Versarien will be handling the dispersion of the GNPs into the resin to be used by the customer. The resin will be provided by the customer free of charge and will be returned to the customer in Europe once mixed with Versarien's GNPs.

The addition of Versarien's GNPs is expected to provide a significant performance improvement to the customers' product and further significant orders would be required to fulfil market potential.

14 December 2016

Versarien plc (AIM:VRS) ("Versarien" or the "Company" or the "Group"), the advanced materials group, is pleased to announce an agreement with Scafell Organics Ltd ("Scafell") to develop graphene enhanced polyaryletherketones (PAEK) materials.

PAEK materials are a family of semi-crystalline thermoplastics with high-temperature stability and high mechanical strength. They are used for a very wide variety of specialist applications, including in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Scafell is an independent, specialist producer of niche polymer chemicals primarily for the chemical, pharmaceutical and aerospace markets.

It is intended that Versarien will utilise Scafell's facilities and production expertise to produce graphene enhanced PAEK materials using Versarien supplied graphene nano platelets. It is anticipated that these graphene enhanced materials will be available for sale by Versarien through its sales team as well as Scafell's customers.

19 December 2016

Versarien plc (AIM:VRS) ("Versarien" or the "Company"), the advanced materials group, is pleased to announce an agreement with Fern Plastic Products Ltd ("Fern Plastics") to manufacture injection moulded products using graphene enhanced polyaryletherketone (PAEK) materials.

The agreement with Fern Plastics follows the agreement with Scafell Organics Ltd ("Scafell") announced on 14 December 2016. It is intended that Versarien will utilise Fern Plastics' manufacturing facilities and expertise to produce injection moulded products using graphene enhanced PAEK materials produced through Versarien's collaboration with Scafell.

Following the agreements with Scafell and Fern Plastics, Versarien is now able to supply both graphene enhanced PAEK materials to manufacturers and also has the capability to supply finished products. It is anticipated that these graphene enhanced materials and products will be available for sale by Versarien through its sales team as well as to Scafell and Fern Plastics' customers.

Apart from the resignation announcement of the Chief Technology officer, which is now looking to be a cause for concern to me, there were 11 business development announcements during 2016. Most of these are now over a year old and yet there has not been a progress update on any of them!

In comparison, the only tangible announcement this year was the launch of Nanene and the distribution agreement with Lansdowne chemicals in February. The Lansdowne agreement was for an initail 6 months, due to end this month. Will we get a progress report?

This thread has become preoccupied with NDAs, but the news flow I highlight for last year was all public domain stuff. Where are the progress report on these various collaborations?

I admire Superg's research tenacity but he does tend to become obsessive. For years he vowed SQM would fall foul of the law in Chile and be put out of business through the illegal use of water for iodine extraction and that this would result in iodine prices rising, and that would make Iofina a great investment. It never happened and a large number of PIs lost shed loads of money on IOF. I am not blaming SG for their loss, that was down to them, but some of them would have taken comfort from SQM analysis, just as some on here are taking comfort from the large number of NDAs he keeps assuring us over.
My point is that VRS should provide updates on last year's RNS announcements. Their lack of news flow is indictable.

Going back to SN's comments re hardness I haven't immediately come across a clear reference to where it sits on Moh's scale. Perhaps it will follow from the current work regarding characterisation and standards for different grades of graphene?

I thought I might find it by googling graphene ballistic armour and came across a British company using it in composites (SiO2 aerogel/graphene) for armour and aerospace body applications.

I've possibly identified a driver for Cantor lies and if I can confirm it I'll be all over it.

As for VRS I did some more research last night and each time a bit more pops up that blows me away.

So while some moan and groan usually due to lack of short term trading options, I think this company offers spectacular growth if just some of the many dozens of things in play materialise.

For some aspects it seems inevitable that a big name or multiples of them will want involvement.

Haydale keeping their shareholders informed, except?

'Haydale (AIM:HAYD), the global advanced materials group, is pleased to announce the launch of its Taiwan operations, Haydale Technologies (Taiwan) Co., Ltd., ('HTW'), which will operate as a dedicated producer and sales outlet of graphene-based conductive inks and pastes, including other functional and specialty inks and pastes.

Located in Kaohsiung, Southern Taiwan, HTW has largely completed the set-up of its own dedicated ink production facility to meet its anticipated demand. Haydale has been working in Taiwan for more than 18 months, having determined in late 2015 that the region's focus on functional inks and pastes could provide an important route to market for Haydale's tailored graphene-based materials. The work involved market assessments, in-country technical capability, ability to gain regulatory approvals and gaining a deep understanding of the targeted print customers' needs.

Haydale's proprietary graphene-based pastes have been developed in the Far East focussed on the Self-Monitoring Blood Glucose ('SMBG') device market. To date Haydale's inks have been incorporated into test products with several Taiwan-based printing customers who have been progressing regulatory approval for sales of their diagnostic products incorporating Haydale inks into the US and EU markets. Although Haydale has no current visibility on order quantities, the Group anticipates that sales of its tailored graphene-based paste to these customers will commence during the 2017 calendar year.

Traditionally, highly conductive inks and pastes have been dominated by metal-based inks incorporating silver and copper. Whilst graphene is not expected to completely replace the conductive properties of silver-based inks, provided it meets acceptable printer specifications, graphene offers many advantages such as recyclability, lower unit costs and the fact that the material is not susceptible to volatile market price movements.

A key reason for Haydale targeting the SMBG sector opportunity is that, according to market research firm Research & Markets, the SMBG device market is expected to grow to over US$16 billion by 2020 as the incidence of diabetes is increasing dramatically, with more than 640 million sufferers estimated worldwide by 20401.

Commenting on the opening of HTW, Ray Gibbs, CEO of Haydale, said:
"The development of our graphene-based inks has been focused on the screen printing market for over three years, which started with Haydale being awarded an Innovate UK grant for the production of ink for the self-monitoring blood glucose device market. Three years later we have expectations on securing sales this calendar year and the necessary FDA and regulatory approvals through dedicated printers such that we were confident to open a operation facility in Taiwan to service our collaboration partners' needs. The biomedical sensor market is massive and we consider that the Far East has a significant portion of this growing sector. I look forward to making more announcements on progress in ink sales over the coming months."

Simon - thanks, but no thanks - they're ten a penny, aren't they? What's that great Stalin quote? - It's not the voting that matters, it's the counting...

Incidentally, I don't think graphene is hard. Tough and strong sure, but not hard. That's for diamonds, where it's a function of their 3-dimensional shape, which is locked in all directions - 4 carbon bonds, not 3...

This is all very well, but can anyone post a link to a Nomad that's been punished for releasing misleading information on AIM?

Yes, really - any Nomad, any information, any sanction? I'd like to add it to my Museum of Improbable Events.

Back in the real world, the bit of research I'd like to see is the ten largest orders for graphene over the last 12 months. Any view onto the increase over the last couple of years would be equally valuable.

Another point.

The FCA do monitor things. I believe a trigger is +- 20% on the share price

If that happens the FCA call in asking the Nomad/company if there is any reason undisclosed for the share price movement.

I'm sure that will have happened at Directa and the Cantor note given as the reason.

The FCA at that point wouldn't know it has false details in it. They will now.

Hence Simon I applaud you for taking on the EKT lot. There are not enough of us around to challenge the crooks in the market.

I have never known such a rotten criminal network so bad as the stock market and it's participants. A had a chat with an MM recently and he agrees with me.

It's like a a free for all for crime with no one really doing anything about it.

Hence I look for genuine companies with genuine teams trying to build a business as it's full of crooked chancers who deliberately mislead investors to line their own pockets.

BTW

A few are trying to deal with the CEO that was of Paragon Diamonds, I'm helping and he's guilty as far as I'm concerned.

I have a few others brewing having declared recently I'm not going to warn PIs anymore (too much grief) so I have some serious allegations in at the moment and I'll keep doing it as and when I spot lies and deceit.

Bit puzzled about those comments. I know all about inside information I have been involved in litigationwhich is still on-going.

If anyone is given specific information which would have a specific impact on the share price its illegal. one would not normally get that information!

Full stop!

Putting 2 + 2 is speculation but if putting 2 + 2 together is a way of leaking inside information that could also be seen as market manipulation.
