I'm not being controversial.I genuinely have seen many instances where a company will come out and quash damaging rumours.Companies are required to monitor these bulletin boards too, so they will be aware of the aspirations being cast regarding their ownership of patents and IP.

Well there's a big difference between being 'required to respond to rumours', which is what you suggested,which is an absolute nonsense, as it's just not true ,and issuing any updates that require a RNS. Sometimes companies respond to articles in a paper, digital or otherwise , eg take over rumours etc but companies sure ain't going to issue RNS out every time some fruit loop posts some rubbish on the BB.

Well, actually, I don't.Over the years of investing in GVC and IOF, they have had to issue RNS's about social media speculation on several occasions.Takeover rumours, key staff leaving etc.... if the rumour is TRUE, the Nomad advises the company, who are required to clarify it and state the fact.

So why don't you or he ask the company? Why keep Spreading this stuff day in, day out? I would genuinely like to know that and why my question is never answered. I think most sensible people on here know the answer to that.

It depends whether you consider what SuperG has raised to constitute social media speculation?Because the company are required to respond to such rumours, especially if it may impact the share price or cause a disorderly market.I'm not sure about the latter, but the share price has certainly come under pressure since his claims.If I was still a shareholder here, I would want the company to come out and clarify this matter.

It's got nothing to do with confirmation bias. Do you honestly think the CEO and directors will get involved with some fruit cake on a platform like ADVFN? I repeat the same question. If he is that concerned then why hasn't he directly contacted the company? Because he knows what he is saying is defamatory with a sole aim of unsettling the share price. As a poster said yesterday it's a tactic employed by climate deniers to muddy the waters and spread doubt when there is none

The company would not be "lowering themselves" as you put it, they would be dispelling any doubt that their integrity is 100% intact. Surely that is the first thing to consider when looking to invest in any company?

As a shareholder (which I assume you are)you should forensically analyse every and any potential risk to your capital. Confirmation bias behaviour is easy to slip into.
I have learned this the hard way.
