Further debt reduction.

--

Vedanta Resources Plc (the "Company") today announces its election to redeem in cash all of its outstanding 9.5% bonds (ISIN: US92241TAD46 and USG9328DAD24; CUSIP: 92241TAD4 and G9328DAD2) maturing 18 July 2018 under condition 5(b) of the terms and conditions of the bonds. The Company has duly served a Notice of Redemption effective today in accordance with the terms and conditions of the bonds and the settlement is expected to occur on 4 May 2017.

Upon settlement, the Company will reduce its near-term gross debt by $379mm in face value, in-line with its stated strategy to deleverage and extend its average debt maturity.

Tom Albanese, CEO of Vedanta Resources plc commented "I am pleased with this proactive bond redemption, which is driven by our strategy to reduce debt and optimise the balance sheet of the group. The optimisation of balance sheet along with the ramp-ups at our operations will create value for all stakeholders."

Albanese “played a major role behind the cost cutting and cost optimization initiatives,” Goutam Chakraborthy, an analyst at Emkay Global Financial Services, said by phone from Mumbai. “The company is at a turnaround point and the commodities market is going to do better going forward.”

I expecting this to drop between the 700p and 600p over the next few months ha based on TA.

If it does and then I see the turn back to bullish that will be my time to buy but not before.

So Vedanta indian arm has just paid as an interim dividend half a billion dollars - Vedanta resources has a market cap of about 2.7 billion dollars- so as an interim the diva it receives about 18 percent of its market cap - thus indicating this share is severely severely undervalued!!

It means it's a good risk/reward from here, using 763p as a decent stop.

Just noticed that VED bounced off it's major 38% Fib retrace at 763p on Monday. Taking the 2016 all time low ( 200p ) to the Feb 2017 High ( 1112p )

I've bought a few here. 810p
