Yep the last buy back was disastrous for the share price which slumped to 68p.

A special dividend would be the far better choice but apparently this is not possible currently due to the seemingly never ending exceptional write-offs linked to the merger.

Alexchry post above gives a breakdown of exactly why the stock price as performed as it as. They seem to struggle making decisions and they have backtracked-on.some .Look at the comment about giving back 50 million to share holders if that is in the form of further share buyback we had no benefit from the last buyback why not pay a special one off dividend and actually give shareholders something for a change.
If not why not look for a strategic bolt on accusation that would actually be generating cash to the bottom line not the jam tomorrow scenario we’ve had for the last 2 1/2years why SKP ever tied up with VEC I’ll never know that side of the business as achieved nothing to this point .

Some quite large single trades today (477K) and share price up so could be buys.

With news of cash levels and buyback once again already released in advance of results I fully expect this to be manipulated down again by the dark forces at play here come Tuesday i.e. a repeat of the March antics. It appears cash levels of £100M+ with another £100M possibly on the way is not seen as important by the market at the moment.

When they do magically wake up and re-rate VEC it could double.

polaris, I do not expect any surprises next week but I hope we get some positive news on progress with advair generic, partnerships, court cases and, of course, a new MD. In three years the share price has halved, the FD and MD have resigned, R&D has been reduced significantly and some trials have failed so it would be good not to have any bad news!

@alexchry - let's hope the results next week do not leave you short of breath requiring its use beyond 'normal'.

That’s the problem nothing ever does change just the constant poor share performance and a board that just don’t seem able to make or communicate anything like a decision

Welcome back Polaris. Colorado sounds great, but camping pure hardship to me. I don't think anything fundamentally has changed with VEC, just the holiday blues.

Back from holiday in Colorado. Camping in the Rockies National Park (glacier basin), Ouray, Silverton, Mesa Verde, Great sand-dunes and Buena Vista (collegiate peaks).
Very enjoyable being off-grid for a while.

2 weeks to H1 results here. Let the share price do whatever, the results will be pretty good and i expect an update on the litigation and the search for a new CEO.

People have their timescales for investment return and mine is longer than most. I am still expecting the eventual realisation of value here and a share price north of £1. In the interim, my goldies and high yield out of favour large caps are doing the business.

regards all,

Paul

Pathetic performance by Vectura today down 3.5% on the bid with wider indices soaring >1%. Hardly any volume in the morning again either. Market seems determined to keep this down. Shorts showing as <0.5%. H1 on 10th Sept.

I must be going soft or something, but I have read a post on a bulletin board (the last one) and actually agree with it.

Another key point is that our Interims will be released on 10/9 & we know that they will be in line with expectations & following Julys trading update FY20 should also be on track. The Interims are expected to announce details of the £50mill share buy back ,unless a new CEO is appointed within the next 2 weeks who has a more inspired plan for our "spare" cash. There may be news regarding our GSK litigation win together with more news regarding our expected collaborations in respect of new products.Either way, there must be scope for the very long awaited recovery in our share price to begin next month & I am asking myself whether I want to add to my large holding before 10/09- & I have a couple of weeks to do so .

I appreciate that I keep banging on about BTG but investors in that company will,in the next week or so, receive around £3.3bill from Boston Scientific & some of the investors will be reinvesting their proceeds into other similar companies & there must be a possibility that a small % will be applied towards buying Vec shares.
It would be helpful if we could very soon announce the appointment of our new CEO as the Board have had 3 months + to find a replacement ,which we would have hoped would have been relatively straightforward-although I still harbour hopes that The Dame may be tempted.

AXA have bought some shares off HBM clearly.
Now stake exceeds 5%.

Not a single trade in the first 100 minutes today.

It appears AXA have increased their stake by over 8M shares but has had little or no impact on the SP, presumably there were some very willing sellers. Not sure how much buying interest is required to move the share price I wonder if we will get an announcement from HBM regarding a reduction in their stake.

I might be being a bit thick but it looks to me like AXA have been increasing and have exceeded the 5% threshold

So is the latest RNS an AXA stake build
or it just smoke and mirrors relating to lending to shorts?

These company holding RNSs used to be much more straight forward.

Pooroldboy , nothing personal, but if you will not post here until share price will go above 90 p , I would very great full to you.
I will do the same - not post until share price hit 90p.
Thanks in advance. Hope you understand my superstition , but when you distanced a few months ago , share price moved above 80p.
Hopefully it will help.
Thx again.

That's 2% of the share capital. They had 5% mid way through the period as per their holdings update so maybe 4% left?
