I think one has to be a supreme pessimist to see much downside from here.

The US IP case has yet to have a final verdict and so there can be no appeal. Once we see a judgement that includes the apportioning of costs then we know it is the final ruling. Then we will see the appeal, if there is to be one. The further damages request from SKP is just the latest part of the process, as is the GSK request for the judge to reconsider the damages given the existing evidence. This one will continue to bubble for a good few months yet, IMO.

Makes sense Diesel. Not sure which will come first, the appeal, or the new CEO... I think the latter - happy for others to comment.Having said that, what intellectual input would the CEO put in..? An acquisitive CEO would presumably prefer to retain funds. But return of some of shareholders funds should be a board decision, but making that decision in the absence of a key board member is perhaps not the done thing.

I don't think we'll see any decision on how to best utilise the cash until we have a new CEO.

There has been no formal appeal from GSK to my knowledge? Short position also reduced which should be a positive.

The appeal needs to quashed, then, I would imagine, we will see a plan for cash returns to shareholders

$89.7M awarded + seeking additional $44M
= $133.7M
At the current exchange rate = £107M

Already have £100M+ in Cash.

Current market cap ~ £540M

So potentially cash could account for 40% of the market cap.

Yet the share price barely moves....

Connor, Clark & Lunn now below reporting threshold of 0.49% having been static at 0.59% for months. Very bizarre that the share price dropped today and as you say on very low volume especially this morning.

Ward-Lilley long gone also and so IMO reduced opposition to a bid.

I know we should be immune to the disappointment with Vectura ,but from a chart perspective I was quite confident we were heading for a break of ninety pence

Shorts down below threshold but share price down. Net cash £90-100M and another £100M+ on the way?

No offence intended and hopefully not taken. I'm a full time systematic trader so I'm just conditioned to my style these days. Running many positions atm as market conditions look really good. VEC position early days for me but been a good winner in the past so hopefully it can repeat. If it breaks up I'll be adding and if it breaks down I'm out

Hi DavROs
I do have a portfolio of more than 20 companies all but one paying dividends that's VEC which think / hope will come good one day. I don't post anything to serous I leave that to others ie PAUL but I do my research and like everyone cross my fingers and hope .I like to add a little bit of humour now and again.
Cheers ANDREW

Buy other stocks lol. Loads of constructive charts out there - best since 2016 if not 2012. Once I'm in I set alarms for where I'm wrong and I tend to forget about them until something happens

Your watching this far too closely - there isn't a base at that level - it's just normal market chop for this share

My holding is also substantial & there is scope for our 're rating'to gather pace ,although that will depend on the appointment of a very credible new CEO with a strong track record of achievement & growth.Vec presents a great opportunity for a dynamic CEO as we have decent organic growth, new products under development ,a substantial bank balance ( hopefully soon to be boosted substantially ).The right CEO will identify & make decent acquisitions & perhaps Vec will again be viewed as an exciting growth company

Few more chunky transfer trades gone through at 85 today. This now looks like the base for support for any continued share price improvement.

I'll be happy if that is the case. I was hurting in terms of paper losses in the low 70s and, despite me knowing it was a good entry point, had no new funds to add. I've cashed in the June spreadbets and added some Septembers/Decembers to hold in the region of 250K. I'll not be adding more here unless there is a clear breakout on increased volume or some major positive news.
