£2.6m left from buyback. Wasted over £12m, definitely bad decision from the board.

Closed my long from circa 71p yesterday at 79 plus change, the order book starting to gang up again.
Lowish volume, not convinced by the bounce.
Hope i am wrong for holders sake.

Morning POB’s any chance you could book another holiday? As that repeatedly does seem to mark an upward swing in the share price of VEC. Am sure that would get you in the wife’s good books too!

Remember this?

"Short squeezes are more likely to occur in stocks with small market capitalization
and small floats, although can involve large stocks and billions of dollars, as
happened in October 2008 when a short squeeze temporarily drove the shares of
Volkswagen on the Xetra DAX from €210.85 to over €1000 in less than two days ....."

The seller may be safely out of reach of uk disclosure rules, borrowing from multiple sources or even naked - who knows?
Five weeks to wait until company results but it seems unlikely that there won't be some other development before then given the current rate of attrition - even if it's only a violent reversal of the trend.

Yep, I got 15k at 72p... imo the fundamentals are simply on offer at a price that can't be refused. Time, as always... will tell!

Yep another below bid close, the seller just kept increasing his amount on the book to match an corresponding buy order, the sellers amount reached nearly i million just before the UT trade at 76p
Just how many share are available to the seller is anyone's guess.
Quite a determined effort again today to drive it down.

seller swamping the close auction again, let's see if a buyer is around at this level, or will it be another below bid close?

GlaxoSmithKline eyes $1.7B bid for respiratory partner Vectura: report

WHAT'S CHANGED IN LESS THAN A MONTH TO WARRANT A 45% DROP IN SHARE PRICE??!

GlaxoSmithKline already partners with Vectura on respiratory therapies, but some say the British pharma giant could be looking to take the pair’s relationship one step further.

Glaxo is preparing a 175-pence-per-share bid for the Chippenham, U.K.-based company, sources told The Telegraph. That offer would value Vectura at close to £1.2 billion.

If GSK does strike, it’ll be taking advantage of Vectura’s 2017 share price drop. In May, the FDA turned down a generic of GlaxoSmithKline blockbuster Advair from Vectura and partner Hikma, and investors have continued to pressure the stock as they await a final verdict from the regulatory agency, due this quarter, the newspaper notes.

FWIW , I think this is just trending with HIK, albeit there was a surge on takeover rumours. VEC share price has now fallen back in line, which if true shows the perception of the impact from the Advair generic is overly pessimistic.
