1.5m tons of tailings at 15 tons per rock truck transport is 100,000 round trips. Each round trip is about 300 road miles. So to shift it will mean driving 30 million truck miles.
Good luck with making any money shifting tailings 300 miles to process. The whole point of mining is to minimise ore movement distance. Plus there aren’t enough trucks in Europe to do the job. |
So i was just looking at the hains gold deposit. The first rock dump hold 1.5m ton of ore at between 1.2-2.5g/t. So around 2.25m gram , at 1.5 gram a ton. or 750,000 ounces at 30 gram a ounce. so before cost $210m at $2800, a ounce. So vast get 20% so before costs that is $42m to vast over the life time of this dump. Now that is only for the first 1.5m ton from a possible 3m ton.
The Company in addition will be entitled to make a charge for processing material at Baita Plai in accordance with industry norms. not sure what this will be worth to vast but its not going to be a small amount. Vast Market cap today is just £3.5m. seems very small for a company with this amount of revenue, from just just one of its money making projects. |
