06/2/2007 16:30 | Sadly, the fickle finger of fate does seem to work that way. | spaceparallax
06/2/2007 13:00 | once your luck changes, if it is not one thing it is another........ | agreeable
06/2/2007 12:58 | It's just occurred to me - could this be a new and chilling tactic being employed by the IR for late returns? | spaceparallax
06/2/2007 12:08 | A startling event. Who said accountancy is dull and boring? | spaceparallax
06/2/2007 12:05 | Blimey 'A letter bomb has exploded at the offices of AIM-listed accounting and tax advisory group Vantis PLC, Sky News reported today. Two people were injured in the blast at the three-storey building in Wokingham, Berkshire.' | egoi
29/1/2007 16:02 | Can't see support at 190, but around 205p lots of support late 2005 on chart above. If it overshoots you shall have your tenner. -:) And I shall probably be a shareholder again. (Suspect you might be as well!) But I doubt it will go that far down. | egoi
29/1/2007 10:56 | We shall see. | spaceparallax
29/1/2007 10:47 | look at the chart, 230 was clearly a resistance level, now it has fallen through that next stop looks llike 190. My £10 now looks secure. Bank facilities have to be in place by end February as old facilities then expire. No new acquisitions announced so no earnings boost, plus with all the negative news about the debt management / iva sector the new venture which promised so much looks dead in the water | agreeable
29/1/2007 09:35 | Not aware of anything - will post If I hear. | spaceparallax
29/1/2007 09:17 | Yep you and your big mouth. -:) I guess one of the Sundays had nothing better to do than regurgitate last June's 'news'. Anyone see anything? | egoi
26/1/2007 16:26 | me and my big mouth. | spaceparallax
26/1/2007 10:28 | The share price seems to have dug in for now. It would be nice to put the IR business to bed once and for all in order that the previous good work can be resumed. | spaceparallax
18/1/2007 11:13 | I'm happy with that. Space i would only note that where there is something I consider misleading or disingenuous, I will correct it in the interests of the quality of the thread. Year on year turnover was up 29%; year on year debtors were up under 18%. | egoi
17/1/2007 19:11 | Might I make a plea to you both? You both seem, in many ways, like reasonable people who spend quite some time offering well thought out posts - why don't you both accept that there's a difference of opinion that hopefully will be resolved in due course. | spaceparallax
17/1/2007 16:44 | the market today seems to think i am right, when egoi looks back the significance of that two day delay in July on announcing results will become clear.....my guess....they were emptying anything left into the numbers to make the profits. egoi, you have still not given me your erudite explanation of the very high debtors figure...where does this fit into your picture of a well managed business | agreeable
17/1/2007 16:35 | I'm simply watching with baited breath to see what the Market thinks as it digests the cases for the defence and prosecution. We seem to have a hung jury presently. | spaceparallax
17/1/2007 10:26 | All that 'bad news' - and it's already in the price. You couldn't get it near to 200p even with all that. Only one way as the newsflow removes these issues one by one. i don't believe the institutions will let it drop anywhere near 200p now. Hard lines agreeable. -:) By the way i read you are now comparing VTS to Disperse. Classic! Were you off the day they did maths at your school? I may not be a 'numbersman' but it seems your 'Dummies Guide to Accounting' wasn't helpful to you either! DGP is loss making VTS incase you hadn't noticed profitable. And VTS only briefly exceeded its arrangements, in october. Even I can work out that much....... -:) PS: I never said a going concern note 'should be construed positively'! | egoi
17/1/2007 08:25 | egoi How much more bad news can there be, HMRC get warrant to seize documents based upon allegations of serious wrongdoing plus one short of a going concern audit qualification...sure The issues here are that growtrh has been driven by acquisitions, the banks not going to be happy to lend to allow the company to make more acquistions, with a weaker share price opportunity for issuing equity to make acquisitions are reduced, plus all that equity issued to past vendors will now hit the market as vendors emerge from their restrictions on sale. Only one way to go.... | agreeable
16/1/2007 16:00 | There, that wasn't so hard! -:) You'll need to get to 200p before they announce their new banking arrangements (don't think anyone seriously doubts that'll happen) and that the investigation, such as it is/was; is dead, because after that it'll be bon voyage to 300p - in the absence of bad news I don't reckon institutions would let it drop to 200p; simply too cheap. -:) | egoi
16/1/2007 08:13 | no, i have never worked for vts, nor do i work for a rival. I was at one time a client of one part of vts. | agreeable
15/1/2007 18:32 | Wondered how long it would take, after five up days off 1.5p today and you are back. If you only have the guts to post on down days you won't be around much. Did you at any time work for any part of the Vantis group agreeable, or a rival? Only when you answer that question (as I answered your question as to whether I had any association with the company past or present) can we have a proper discussion. Good two way volume today, always healthy to have a bit of profit-taking on the way back up. Turnover increased 29% to £42.7m (2005: £33.2m); Profit before tax £3.7m (2005: £1.4m); Basic earnings per share increased by 89% to 5.3p (2005: 2.8p); | egoi
15/1/2007 16:52 | my postal order has just come through and my £10 is now available...looks like a clear home run back to £1 | agreeable
11/1/2007 15:28 | Cost base does not worry me, not in the way you describe it, though it can be a concern in other ways. They don't get paid 4,800 a head more and won't get anything like that sort of rise. The annual rise will probably be below rising profits as a percentage, if CS's figures are to be believed anyway. What it has done is left a hole in my portfolio -:( and the need to find another boring away from the crowd steady gainer. INRE fits the bill given my view on commercial property and I like their structure and shareholdr base, but has risen 25% in a couple of months so would like to see a pullback, and without that my search continues. Ah, of course, perhaps I will be able to buy VTS at 201p when the banking arrangements are finalized, (ready for the sprint to 300p)..... -:) Somehow though, I fear 201p will not happen........... -:( I hope my offer of a tenner hasn't scared someone off! Either that or one or other of my qs was a bit too close to the truth! | egoi
11/1/2007 13:35 | I was tickled to see the stray RNS relating to Triad - seemed so appropriate after the recent discussions. | spaceparallax |
