07/8/2018 20:58 | With all the recent focus and excitement about Wick and Tunisia I’d near forgot we also have a unique MoU in Sarawak and a well advanced prospect(s) in Morocco. Not to mention Hardstoft that could underpin a big chunk of the share price itself. Not a one trick pony. Think 3 or 4 trick pony minimum that are all potentially absolute belters. Stunning prospects being unveiled here. | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 16:47 | Another nice steady day, they all add up.The last recorded buy on the button, should start us off nicely in the morning. | hulltiger
07/8/2018 16:45 | Jaba/Thai Tickler | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 16:37 | ROFL he's one of these so-called experts/bloggers seems to have a following on advfn for whatever reason who cares if he blogs something to help pump the share price through 4p tomorrow | okspookie
07/8/2018 16:24 | Whose malcy? | thejaba
07/8/2018 16:07 | Doughty - cheers. I’m hearing Malcy is still belly up to the lunch table so maybe update 2moz. | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 16:04 | Spangler, surely more pi’s these days than ever there was readily setting about realising their dreams of riches by doing so in their own sourced way. Sod the time honoured routes! wise or not, that, I feel, is the modern way . I note many of Malcys blogs on utube have many 1000’s of viewings. Largely different audience to advfn and certainly a different league as regards reach. | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 15:59 | Spangle, What vivid imagery you paint, lol! As for Malcy, yes there is actually a 'Malcy Bucket-List' BB on ADVFN. seriously, I'm not joking. Like any cult, he has a group of die-hard followers, battened down in their bunkers, with candles lit around his old photos. Cash | cashandcard
07/8/2018 15:52 | Argyle...the TS link was 8-9 months old...he is meeting Dr.S today from what we can gather and so he may do an update v soon...I would like to think he might tweet something v positive on the way home ( he did after all tweet that he was meeting him ) with more to follow on his blog...we can rely on Dr S to charm him...and add to his waistline/gas capacity ! Spangle...we will await his update and see how excited he gets...even the daily summary will show how bullish he is about UPL | doughty
07/8/2018 15:41 | What? Even MORE excitement to come Doughty? ;) | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 15:41 | 2Prsimo - some female friends of mine just about have the sweat pads off the sofa arms when Gardeners World is on, and have to wear a bib to catch the drooling, so he definitely appeals to many, but he's a failed jeweller from a public school who fell haphazardly into broadcasting and has no gardening qualifications, according to his autobiography (or Wikipedia, which is quicker ;-) ...unlike Alan Titchmarsh, who's a fully qualified and time-served gardener who fell on hard times and started writing racy novels. Argyle/cash - ref exposure (making sure we've moved on from Monty) yes, agree, always good to have different channels to potential investors, though I'm not sure what population his acolytes comprise - do they post on here, or is there a separate "Malcy" BB. Surely people who want exposure to a basket of oil stocks would be better off with e.g. Junior Oil Trust, or a resource IT? Doughty - I'm sure he would get much more excited if a company paid him to promote them, though the people on the other BB couldn't agree whether this was common practice, but it's rare that he disses any stock. Maybe you get more insights if you subscribe to his blog; I just get the daily summary, including the unnecessary and tedious sports headlines, through Oil Voice. Maybe I'm just jealous cos it must be a great way to make a living, and I reckon I could do it better ;-) | spangle93
07/8/2018 15:31 | That UPL link re MALCY is from last year btw...December...his blog from current meeting not yet out | doughty
07/8/2018 15:19 | He's unlikely to just rush in with a fanfare of praise without doing some more research and to be fair, the market isn't exactly carried way either. | trulyscrumptious
07/8/2018 15:10 | Is that as excited as he gets ? | doughty
07/8/2018 15:05 | I’ve of the opinion the more favourable exposure the better. Whatever the source. | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 15:04 | Upland Resources I wanted to catch up with Steve Staley, CEO of Upland Resources following their recent announcement of a farm-in with Corallian Energy for a 40% WI in UK block 11/24b which contains the exciting Wick Prospect and managed to get some time with him this morning. Apart from some UK onshore with Ineos I hadnt really done much work on Upland but SS has a fantastic record in the industry so should be watched very carefully. Upland have done a lot of prep work on this licence and plan to drill the prospect in late 2018 but with an estimated in-place P50 resources of around 250m bbls it may well be worth the wait. The key risk that has been identified I understand is the fault closure but apparently if the faults seal then this is a very big structure indeed, in fact his words were ‘it sticks out like a sore thumb’. Fans of Reabold Resources will have more than a passing interest in this as they now have an interest in Wick following the Corallian investment, although guarded about anything until the deals are funded and signed I suspect they are quietly very excited about 2018… hxxps://www.malcysbl | trulyscrumptious
07/8/2018 14:48 | Spangle93, I echo your sentiments. He is not an oil & gas analyst in the same way you'd have at an investment house. However, he certainly does have access to the people that matter and can occasionally get them to speak in a little more detail about their projects plans etc. One other point, his 'bucket list', even with a number of failures, has delivered great returns since oil started coming back in the latter half of 2016 (but then which oil investor has not reaped rewards since then?). Even now, I expect his porty to pay better than a good divi paying stock. The truth is, he has garnered a following and his overall bucket-list portfolio benefits from the crowds he draws in. To me atleast, that is an inefficiency that eagle-eyed investors can exploit if they position themselves carefully and do not want to go sole risk on individual stocks. Cash | cashandcard
07/8/2018 14:46 | Cheers Spangle. Divmad - Re waistline Do u think he could contain 1TCF? A walking gas prospect? | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 14:43 | I like Monty Don (and Nigel & Nell - his two retrievers) | 2prsimo
07/8/2018 14:41 | ...I dont rest on formal qualifications...if he gets the job done thats good enough for me...it sounds like he is v influential and if he likes what he sees it can only be good for the share price ..albeit his followers may not become LTH disciples like us ? | doughty
07/8/2018 14:39 | He needs to watch his waistline. Too many free City lunches. Then you are surprised he never comes out with anything objectively cautious! | divmad
07/8/2018 14:32 | Arygle/Doughty - Malcy makes a fine living reproducing RNS's for his followers, and trying to explain daily oil price movements. AFAIAA he has no technical or practical industry background, other that the above. A bit like Monty Don and gardening. This explains why he often gets units for reserves and flowrates wrong. With another company I follow, there was a big debate as to whether he's paid by the companies to promote them - I don't have a strong view either way. However he gets invited to speak with CEO's and go on jaunts to oilfields. Which, as far as I can see, is the best thing he offers ... access to people to ask questions we wish we could. | spangle93
07/8/2018 13:55 | As per Starks post this pm, Malcy is off to meet UPL today... I’m off to see Steve Staley, CEO of Upland Resources and a huge fan of Wick amongst others. 4:36 am - 7 Aug 2018 | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 13:40 | Last week (1st Aug) Malcy resolves to meet UPL CEO... “Upland Resources I don’t formally cover Upland yet but have spoken to CEO Steve Staley and requested a meeting next time he is in town but I sort of like what I see and need to get to know them a little more. Today they have announced that they have had their application for a licence in Tunisia accepted in an area where gas was discovered 50 years ago! They feel that this discovery de-risks the play and with spare pipeline capacity running through the block would make exports to local gas markets highly convenient. The company only announce that they have taken ‘a majority stake’ which is confusing and also that any success would lead to State Company ETAP backing in for a ‘minority stake’ but I’m sure that details will be forthcoming. The normal work programme has been agreed so expect a 2D seismic programme which if successful would lead to one or more exploration wells to be drilled. North Africa is very hot right now as we know from a number of companies who are trying to enter the space and also from a number of companies in the post code who are getting plenty of inbound enquiries as well as competition for new acreage, watch this space…” | argyle underclap
07/8/2018 13:17 | Let’s be honest, 1TCF will be like a lottery win. I’ll settle for that. :) | argyle underclap |
