LL: Those could well be PI's selling or buying on the order book - I sometimes use when broker cannot get the price I want either way - Seller at 62p slowly being taken out but some AT buys at 61 - buyar may have deepish pockets so 61 might be a bottom but in this meltdown market who knows - Without news could go lower and if news when it arrives in current climates is not above market exoectations could well go into melt down if Mr 61p has used up his dry powder.

It’s nothing to do with forthcoming results it’s due to weak markets, poor liquidity and no news flow.

Luceco bounced from 59p to 90p in 2 trading days so keep the faith

It's fair to say now that the market makers have been given wind of some terrible results. And yes this is an order book traded stock however the mms have always been selling far more

Amuses me when high frequency trades keep selling to drive price down, but then there are no PI sells. What is the point of this exercise?

LL: Not yet enough blood on the street - Getting there but need more throats to be cut and institutions panicing out - Need Woodford and others to take a few more hits and general painc - Still too many wearing rose tinted glasses - need a few more black eyes (all imo etc)
Remember how lobsters and crabs are cooked - Warm water gradually raised to boiling !!

C'mon Pug, jump in, the waters lovely and warm! Got to be worth a punt at this price surely? 8% dividend not tempting enough? Buy and hold for re-rating? LOL Rich
PS today is one of those days where you view the carnage of your PF, and know its actually a buying day with lots of bargains to be had. Its just controlling your emotions, thinking rationally and going against the herd!!

Silence is deafening - No news and share price falling fast - Could be partial reaction to the Dow but (imo unlikely) - Almost looks as though bad news leaking as according to the ADVFN alogro mostly all sales. Low ball 61.5p - Still watching for same reasons as previously - Typing with one thumb only as fingers lost to falling knives !!! Have a profitable week -

Good point. From the Prospectus:
The Group’s reporting currency is sterling, although it generates significant revenue, and the majority of its purchases, in other currencies, principally the US dollar. For the 12M July 2016 the Board estimates that approximately 59 per cent. of the Group’s total revenue, and 91 per cent. of the Group’s purchases, were denominated in US dollars.

Don't they buy in dollars and sell in sterling and euros so we should see margin improvement once the hedging washes through.

Share price sliding a little again. UPGS BOD need to get some news out. A trading update would be handy, just to reassure the market and PI's that the ship is steady. Half decent news should see this moving back to the 90's in my view. gla Rich

Pug, thanks for response. In my view you've just missed a good buy in opportunity at 65p. I reckon this will rally slowly upwards. Yes, we all know Retail is tough, but at this lowly price (30% of last years highest price)it's got to be worth a punt surely? Just received my Dividend this morning, which is a nice 3.495p/share. Hoping for a TU at the end of January. Probably won't be the best, but should be enough to push this back up into the 90p's in my view. Anyway, good luck whatever you choose to do. Rich

LL: Still watching Eastbourne1982 has put his finger on the reason to Watch rather than buy - Also see my previous posts re consumer markets - product momentum and by implication long timelines for any repeat purchases PLUS of course trade buying power which may well (imo) be the killer.

topvest,

Selling 50% with a market cap around 100 million for a business that did free cash flow of 700k in 2016, I can assure you they would have been laughing !

They took a premium listing as opposed to AIM. Shareholders only sold 50% on listing and so look committed long term. Not sure they are laughing. I’m prepared to give them a chance as this looks a very interesting business.

topvest,

What do you mean they wouldn't have bothered to list ?

In 2016 free cash flow was peanuts compared to the market cap at float, I'd say they were / are laughing.

I would expect to see more buys tomorrow, when the dividends get reinvested. Just my view, Rich

C'mon Pug, you can still buy at reasonable price. The 66.45p sell just gone through is a buy. Others buying down the middle at 66,5p. C'mon, you know you want to join us! LOL Rich

I too am mystified by the share price. I think they are likely to retain their premium listing as prospects long term are very good indeed. They wouldn't have bothered to list otherwise. Think another profit warning is now priced in. 2018/19 should be very good though. Progress is listed in Argos and looks a nice cheap innovative brand. Tempted to double up soon. Dividend next week.

Too much of it is held by directors and institutions for a sub £1 takeover

John - if this stays below £1 then we will likely be taken over. Hope not as I believe this is a massive market

I think the most positive part is 2019 starts 1st August and then we are past this “unlikely to grow revenues in current year” part which seems to be the reason this is being walked down to stupid levels

In 2019 EPS is forecast at 9p which given we did over 11p in 2017 I think that is unrealistically low with German and French markets growth
