21/2/2021 18:18 | Here are several reasons why a company might undertake a reverse stock split, including a couple of positive reasons: 👉🏻 Avoid getting delisted from the exchange: If a company’s stock falls below $1 per share for an extended period of time, the exchange may delist it. To cure this deficiency, the company can conduct a reverse split, moving the stock price above the threshold. 👉🏻 Make the company appear more legitimate: Stocks under $5 per share are considered penny stocks. Penny stocks have a bad reputation, and that’s not what most legitimate companies want to have. A reverse split can boost the stock to a “respectable 👉🏻 Allow the stock more room to fall: Executives may be anticipating the stock to fall further due to the company’s poor operating performance, and a reverse split boosts the stock price, giving it more room to fall without going into penny stock territory. 👉🏻Ad 👉🏻Lo It’s important to note that the reverse split in and of itself doesn’t fix the problems that likely led to a stock’s decline — it’s simply a stock maneuver 😉🙇 THE COMPANY’S VALUATION “technically 🗣 Marc Gerstein, director of investment research at Multex, advises investors to stay away from reverse stock splits, he stated “If I had a company that announced a reverse split, I’d sell it,” he said. “I’d rather see them improve operations” to boost the stock. 👥 Another expert investor Charles Kaplan, President of the investment consulting firm equity anayltics stated “It is usually a very negative sign when a company reverse splits their stocks.” But how the market reacts often depends on what else the company is doing to reverse its fortunes”. That being said As a young investor i would avoid reverse splits at all costs. The danger in stock splits is when people think they are buying a $10 stock after a split that was originally worth $.50 a stock. The risks are much higher than most investors perceive. Stock splits are nothing more than smoke and mirrors 😤😈 🗣 And one ☝🏻 more reason from Thomas Rice of The Bowser Report: a reverse split may just be an attempt to extend the life of a slipping stock 😈 | atino

21/2/2021 15:04 | I think the consolidation will help us to appear a wee bit more like a company thats going somewhere. 20 billion shares at a fraction of a penny doesn't really appeal to some. It would seem that the board are trying to attract a better investor and re model the kerb appeal. If that is the case I personally would like to see the company dump dead wood like share price Angel and Cassiopea. They bring nothing positive to the table IMHO. | joetricky
