12 august update states ...

Over the coming days, the West Newton A-2 well will be equipped for the perforation/completion of a select interval within the Kirkham Abbey conventional reservoir.

Maybe they are testing the deeper target first. then the main target.....
A net 65 metre hydrocarbon saturated interval has been encountered from within the Kirkham Abbey formation indicating a substantial hydrocarbon accumulation, including a significant liquids component.

deeper target...

The well also encountered hydrocarbon shows within the deeper Cadeby formation, a secondary target. The intersection is consistent with the West Newton A-1 well from which an oil saturated core was recovered. This is highly encouraging, and the formation is planned to be intersected in the future from the West Newton-B well location, where optimal reservoir development is expected, and planning permission is already in place.

Why does black smoke come from the flare? Black smoke from the flare can occur when burning large amounts of excess gas and especially if the flared material contains heavier hydrocarbons.

Smoke:

Sometimes, a white cloud may be observed around the flare. It is actually steam that is injected into the flare system to support clean combustion.

While we strive to achieve smokeless flaring, it may not always be possible during operational situations.

On some occasions, there may be black smoke from the flare.

The smoke, which is mainly made up of carbon particles, occurs when there is insufficient amount of air to support a complete combustion.

This may happen when there is a sudden release of excess gases to the system with a delay in response before sufficient steam can be supplied to the burning process.

Steam is usually added to the gases to increase turbulence in the gas flow. This increases air intake that helps to achieve complete combustion and smokeless flaring.

How do you make methane SMOKE?? You must really be choking the airflow to the flare surely?

Alternative explanation would be more carbon atoms per molecule........condensate?

As I mentioned the other day!

The so called big boys will not buy anything until its proven to flow! plus how much is recoverable from any ooip or gas equivalent that's in the ground. (They don't know the value)
ujo has cash so no financial pressure to sell the 16.66 percent to one of the other explorers of west newton but you never know!
Its a very exciting period for ujo and myself as a small share holder, and really hope that the flow testing gas, oil flows at a good rate. gla holders

Its been a while since I got this excited about a share. UJO have been unlucky with Wressel for 4 years. That income would have prevented further dilution. This find is truly transformational and with expected oil, makes this a game changer. What does that mean? Well, I would expect the company to sell the asset quite quickly and pay out a special dividend to holders. That way we get the opportunity to take something off the table and trade on. A great move in my book.

I dont think Wressel or biscathorp are in this current share valuation.

Spot on wisteria2.....confirmation of Reabold's additional £1m investment today speaks volumes.....On and UP!!! Gl;-)

Stephen Williams, Co-CEO of Reabold, commented:

"We are delighted with the rapid progress made so far at the West Newton field. With testing now underway, Reabold is pleased to provide further funds to progress this crucial project through the testing programme and beyond. The opportunity to increase our exposure to this potentially transformational asset, and on attractive financial terms, is something that could create substantial additional value for Reabold shareholders in the event of continuing success."
