I think Sherborne are going way to far here. Electra is a top performing private equity investment trust. We do NOT need a change in investment manager. Its about time other holders fought back.

Thank you Mr Bramson for the 38p dividend!

Of course what Bramson recognized is that the valuations placed on the investments in the books of Electra are of about 2.5x income.

The investment values are carried at a really low amount and if a valuation in the region of 8-10+x were to be applied, which might be realizable, the value of the trust would more than double.

Sherborne have increased their stake to 22% now, and the trust discount has subsequently dropped from over 16% to 4.6% within a month.
This is similar to what happened to the share price back in March when Sherborne first announced their interest, only for their proposals to be rejected at an EGM in October.

£60 per share valued by Sherborne! Investors would be stupid to vote against the proposed changes!

Sherborne now have 18.39% (6,501,235 shares) of the company which at current price of £27.20, has a value of £177M and which no doubt shows a marginal profit on their purchase costs, but I am sue that they are anticipating much larger profits, by perhaps breaking the trust up or demanding a hefty repayment of capital.

Lets hope something good will happen soon.

With the share price now not far off NTAV, I'm out of these and swapped into another with a bigger discount. Can't fault long term performance and may be back in if discount widens again.

Unaudited diluted NAV per share as at 31 December 2012 of 2,468p plus 33 p from Esure is NAV now 2501 ?
